Not really. I had a small runabout for years and was perfectly happy with it. Until it needed the mechanical equivalent of heart surgery !
Found a local used car dealer who gave me a good price on a version ten years younger and ran with that until I'd paid for it outright then they bought it back in exchange for something better at a discounted price way below book price.
Twice the power. Twice the space. Same monthly payment as the little one.
@Bumbles Never had a mechanical issue but the reason I continue to pay monthly rather than buy outright is the fact that should it go wrong the repairs are theirs to deal with not mine ! And if I look to upgrade I could probably afford to do so 3/4 of the way through the repayments. Kinda like having a rental car but with only one driver
Over the years I had Nissan, Fiat, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Chevy, Ford. all were good as long they are new, but after 4 years all cars start having troubles.
@Bumbles Never had any major problems. Our dealership is second to none. Great service and follow-up on our vehicles by their staff. Only had one recall since purchasing both vehicles from 2013 onward. Chances are, my next vehicle will be from Hyundai.
The thing I loved about them is all those safety features made for a fun ride if you knew what you were doing. The thing my mom loved about them is that her lunatic son was much less likely to kill himself.
