Not really so much anymore, I'm drawn to GM, Mazda CX9, I also love the Toyota Highlander and Rav 4.
icedsky · 51-55, M
Used to be a Ford guy. Several F150s and Mustangs. With the advent of disposable cars and trucks though Im leaning more towards Toyota nowadays.

Not really.
I had a small runabout for years and was perfectly happy with it.
Until it needed the mechanical equivalent of heart surgery !
Found a local used car dealer who gave me a good price on a version ten years younger and ran with that until I'd paid for it outright then they bought it back in exchange for something better at a discounted price way below book price.
Twice the power. Twice the space. Same monthly payment as the little one.

@Picklebobble2 Well played!
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@Bumbles Never had a mechanical issue but the reason I continue to pay monthly rather than buy outright is the fact that should it go wrong the repairs are theirs to deal with not mine !
And if I look to upgrade I could probably afford to do so 3/4 of the way through the repayments.
Kinda like having a rental car but with only one driver

@Picklebobble2 Makes a lot of sense. Could have made 7k when I bought out a lease (used car market went nuts for a while) but my kid needed a car!

I had a couple Chevys years ago..good car. But I can't afford the one I wanted (Malibu). Have Hyundai now and it is also good.

I have owned several brands over the years, but I seem to always come back to Chevy products. I still like my 20 year old Silverado.

another upside for Mazdas is they don't use CVT transmissions
I’ve been happy with Toyota
zorroo · 61-69, M
Over the years I had Nissan, Fiat, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Chevy, Ford.
all were good as long they are new, but after 4 years all cars start having troubles.

We like reliability & longevity & high MPG. In recent years the Prius has been fitting the bill better than any other line of cars.

Honda was my first purchase out of college and I’ve only strayed once.
I actually hate to drive and I hate spending money on cars so Honda is a good compromise…

@JovialMoose I should mention that my friend’s Mazda 626 is what inspired me to originally go Japanese.

Probably stick with Toyota and Honda from here on out.
Had nothing but problems with american cars.

I had five different Nissans over 30 years and they treated me well. Now I have a Tesla and yes I know Elon Musk is a piece of shit.
caesar7 · 61-69, M
I bought my second Hyundai vehicle. I guess that answers your question. :)
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
I used to. It was always Volvos until a couple of years ago.
Bumbles · 51-55, M
@LordShadowfire Did you ever have a 240?
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@Bumbles Nope. All wagons.
The thing I loved about them is all those safety features made for a fun ride if you knew what you were doing. The thing my mom loved about them is that her lunatic son was much less likely to kill himself.
