When we're out in public

Whenever Joel and I are out in public we always try to be respectful. I get that not everybody is okay with our way of life. And we try to keep the PDA to a minimum if any at all. It's just easier that way sometimes. But we were out getting lunch and we stopped at a little restaurant it wasn't very crowded and they had seating outside which was even less crowded. So we asked to sit out there. Mostly because it's easier for me to be outside. I could tell Joel's left hand was really bothering him..

After we placed our order I I took Joel's left hand and started massaging the palm of it. His hand is really hurting him from all the riding. That's it that's all I was doing. A few minutes later the waiter came over and said that this was a family-friendly restaurant and they would appreciate it if we would not do things like that in public.

Needless to say we did not stay and eat there. Joel even asked to see the manager but of course there wasn't one on shift supposedly. Joel said some very strong things as we walked out and I might have had a few outbursts that slipped out as well.

We found a place about a mile down the road that had way better food and service.

I would definitely contact the manager and file a complaint. Just tell them that you and Joel have medical issues and you were trying to treat him the best way that you knew. I don't know if those places are listed on Yelp or Google review. But leaving a review for that place goes a long way.

@Barefooter25 I has just holding his hand to message it but still. If I straight couple did that I'm sure nothing would of been said. Oh well.

Call the restaurant, and get the address of the restaurant where the waiter was so horribly rude, and ask for the name of the manager. Do not tell the person at the other end of the phone why you need that information.

THEN you can write the manager a letter, and you can actually TELL him that Joel has arthritis in his hand, and that you were trying to help him when that horrible waiter misconstrued your actions. Tell the manager you were so offended you had to leave...and that HE lost business because the waiter is so deeply biased.

I think that should do the trick.

How awful. If I’m out with a man sitting close and innocent touching is expected and I’ve never heard any complaints luckily
Cigarguy · M
@Finchy yeah like I said we always try to be respectful in public. But some people are just like that nothing that can be done

@Cigarguy I’m glad you stood up for yourselves like that and it’s too bad the manager wasn’t there. Hopefully that person would have had a problem with the waiter too
Thats horrible you were treated that way. Im glad you found a better place to eat with better service

@Shybutwilling2bfriends yes this place was so much better

It's so disappointing to hear that some people, probably far too many, still treat others this way.
Cigarguy · M
@Mordechai yeah it is. And like I said all I was doing was rubbing the palm of his hand.

@HootyTheNightOwl Joel let his feelings be known as we left, we both did. Not that it will do any good.
