Why aren't more people vegan?

I've recently become a vegan and my body feels much better, it's much better for the environment, and it shows the horrible meat corporations we don't need them.

My whole family actually did try it once and it was horrible. We all hated it and after that "experiment" we all agreed that we would eat meat every single night at dinner.
We didn't feel like it was natural or healthy at all. Everyone got sick and they were starving...to quote my husband he said, "I'm so hungry that I could go out in the forest and start gnawing on Bambi's leg!"
Lmao it's not natural to eat meat every day either

@briyeli: It seems natural enough to my hungry tummy and I'm not about to argue with that.
The "experts" say that you should listen to what your body wants!

I've been a vegetarian again for a year now. I'm headed in the vegan direction, slow but sure. I've quit cheese, but I'm still eating eggs and putting milk on my Cheerios.

yeah hunka...it was the living without eggs that stopped me
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
Because being vegan would result in me dying.

😆

@Fernie: Straight talk, I need to eat a LOT of food. Continuous starvation as a child has fucked up my metabolic rate. I can eat a full meal and be hungry hours later because I burn calories so quickly. It's why I seem to be unable to gain weigh no matter how much I eat. Going vegan would be like trying to run your entire house's electricity on a few AA batteries.

@BlueMetalChick: Your body needs what it needs. At least vegetarians have a huge selection of foods which has worked for me for decades... but YOU would starve to death!!!
abe182 · 46-50, M
I love meat that's why.

@abe182: It's like a one man band. Never have to leave home. Ever!!! lol

@SarcasmQueen: vegetables huh? 👍
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@DeletedAccount00: Humans have canines for a reason.
mic11225 · 26-30, M
Alot of reasons but to do a few big ones. The cultural norm is to eat meat, meat tastes good and is easily accessible to everyone. People don't need the horrible meat corporations but people want them. They don't want them to be horrible to animals but they provide what people want which is easily accessible meat and their desire for that meat is greater than their disgust for the corporations.

@mic11225: My point exactly.
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
@lucetta12: I enjoy slavery then
mic11225 · 26-30, M
@lucetta12: me asking you to explain your point doesn't prove your point. But I'll ask again slaves how?
Oh dear, we have one of these people.
Oh god we have one of these people

How fortunate we are when we live in a world where we can afford such choices. Personally, I wouldn't be able to stick to that. I workout way too much and would be cause outside eating live bunnies if I didn't have some meat.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
Very true. I lift weights and run. I felt weak without meat.
SW-User
@HoraceGreenley: My hubby would go on strike if I gave up meat. Bahahaha!!

@SarcasmQueen: 😉

HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
I've already tried it for a 6 month period several years ago. I felt lousy. I decided to give up andhave a big juicy steak.
Shutterbug · 56-60, M
Because we won't have enough people to eat the animals, and they will eventually take over!
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
Because people are content without being a vegan

We evolved eating meat as omnivores. Our digestive system is anatmically and physiologically omnivorous. Meat is calorically and nutritionally suited to feed our developing brains.

I've been vegetarian for 3 decades but could never step over that line to Veganism. Too restrictive
