@Reject I think there’s a lot of things that aren’t subjective. Racism, for example. It’s intentionally hurtful and that’s something that I’m not going to give someone the space to be.

@brainrapist I dealt with a lot of racism growing up as the only black kid in an otherwise homogenous white town. I would say many of them were intentionally hurtful, I had to teach myself how to not let any amount of intent hurt me. Obviously when the physical line was crossed I couldn’t do much about that other than develop pain tolerance, the emotional kind was a bit easier to manage. Funny enough I did make racist friends though. Didn’t have many options. What helped the most was not being offended by them.
