How do Trump's actions, like targeting Medicaid or cutting funding to red states, affect his relationship with his voter base?

Top | New | Old
stop watching the Trump hating liberal networks and see where he wants to cut. 1st the fraud and abuse in the system, 2nd illegal immigrants, 3rd able bodied people need to work in order to keep benefits. your tax dollars support the system and let the sanctuary cities and states pay for their abuse. just maybe if he gets the support it will help Americans who need it most and maybe increase payments to doctors which may lead to more accepting it and provide better care and less time to get an appointment

@ElwoodBlues She is talking about doctors though... apperently there is a good number of doctors that refuse to take medicaid. At least I found a VOX article from 2021, that makes that claim. There is no percentage, and I haven no idea how that evolved over time.

Next to that... if the PhD. guy that I read a couple of days ago from Georgetown University is right, bigger institutions like hospitals have a bad track record as a whole, on abusing the system.

I'm not married to any of these ideas though... the only thing I do find strange, is that this administration complains alot of about waste, fraud and abuse... but doesn't seem to care to fund ANY of the institutions that are eligble to look into these matters. I don't see the IRS getting any backing for the fraud with taxes, I don't see the judiciairy branch getting any backing for the migrants, I've not seen the MFCU getting any backing (or mentioning) when it comes to this toppic. But anyone is free to proof me wrong.
@Kwek00 Its rather simple .. if they are here without proper documentation, by virtue of facts and our laws .. a law was broken. If they are guilty of other transgressions there is legal record for .. no decision needed beyond facts. If here a second time illegally .. its a felony. I will gladly accept the decisions of the govt agency personnel in charge of capturing and deporting them. Period.

@BrandNewMan It's funny that you wrote all that stuff, and never answered my question. But that's okay, what do you care right?

I'll give you the answer though. In todays civilised society... a judge decides. It's the judge that passes judgement. Not you, not your president, not your legeslative branch... no, the judicial one. And in a civilised country, people have rights. I know you don't care about rights, but I do and citizens of their countries should care about rights. Because once someone starts loosing their rights, it's really easy to loose yours. But people like you, only start caring when your rights are being touched... but at that point, your executive branch won't care, and it's sad in my opinion, but people like you deserve it, maybe you'll start caring a bit more afterwards. Some people only learn the hard way and feel remorse, after they sinned.

I'm confused aren't red states republican? The only cuts to medicade are the dead beats that are stealing from medicade. Which in the long run will benifit the people who really need it .

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow My man you are way out of line.

@kodiac
The only cuts to medicade are the dead beats that are stealing from medicade.

How are they ever going to figure those out? Since the administrations are being slimmed down... Next to that, what source do you even have to pretend that this is true OR sufficient to meet with the amount of money being dedicated to this institution? So far... nothing I read, or watched on this subject backs up your view. The term "dead beats", by it self, makes all of this feel very emo and not really rational.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow You're wrong, the only thing this has to do with Trump is he is the first leader that has the balls to say enough is enough no more crooked politicians getting rich by ripping of tax payers .

... How is that happening? Sources? I guess most backers of Donald Trump are just getting rich at the expense of other Americans, the tax system can't really be ripped off since the IRS is under attack. That the IRS is one of the best ways to tackle the debt that republicans are selectively worried about, is just forgotten in this administration.

So you're ok with millions of social security being payed to people that are either dead of committing fraud . All that money can now go to people that deserve it.

Repeating something over and over again, might work on you... but without proof, it doesn't mean that much to me.
@kodiac You do realize that even DOGE has backed away from those claims and reduced mounts from millions to thousands of dollars and even had to admit the claims of dead people and people 200 years old claiming SS was proven to be simply Elon hiring underlings who don't even know how to query a database correctly and gave them access to the system illegally.

Targeting Medicaid to remove the 2 million illegals drawing from it is why I voted for him, mr liberal
@TexChik my husband never has and never will accept medicaid patients and he does very well without it

Gotta stop watching cnn. Hes NOT CUTTING MEDICAID
JPWhoo · 36-40, M
@Patriot96 Can you explain that? If he’s not cutting Medicaid then what is he doing? I don’t watch CNN, but NBC and CBS also say he’s cutting Medicaid by a ton.

So have Trump supporters had a change of heart? Now that it’s clear that cutting Medicaid is widely unpopular y’all suddenly love Medicaid?
Patriot96 · 56-60, C
@JPWhoo cbs and nbc are just as bad as cnn.
They are requiring men under 45 who are capable to work to get off the dole. Go get a job
