algorythms can be so dumb sometimes. I just bought a new ski jacket a few days ago and

now the adds on my page are ski jackets from the same brand I just bought. c'mon guys, I'm NOT going to buy ANOTHER jacket from the same freaking company a few days after buying one 🤦‍♂️

There is an advertising strategy -- pioneered by Ford, if I recall correctly -- that says it is as important, perhaps more important, to reassure your customers that they made the right decision as it is to entice them to buy in the first place.

@dancingtongue that's an interesting point but in this case I think it was more the result of some still primitive program that spotted me searching the arcteryx page and responds by sending me arteryx adds, but wasn't advanced enough to spot that I already bought it and conclude that I will probably not buy another one. if it were smarter, it would be sending me adds of things that go with this purchase: with a proshell he'll need isolating layers to go under it, he might wants ski pnts that are in the same style as the jacket, maybe an arcteryx hat or gloves.
