Do you have any memories of your grandparents

If you never met your grandparents how about any other significant family?

I love my grandparents, I spent today at their house. I have so many memories with them…some happy, others less so. They got me through the hardest time in my life so I am eternally grateful to them
had my Grandpa to be with every day after school until I was in my teens. he made the best PB&J sandwiches and I always won at checkers. he wasn't very good at that

Yes 3 of them, one grandmother died before I was a year old and don’t have any memories of her….good memories of the others

I have vivid memories of both my grandmothers because both were self-centered tyrants and even their children didn't have much good to say about them. I barely knew my maternal grandfather; only vague memories of the couple of times I actual met him. But he was much beloved by his children and the grandchildren who did have frequent interaction with them, and I would guess he had nearly a dozen grandchildren and great-grandchildren named after him. He was an immigrant who stowed away on a sailing vessel at age 16 to come here, never completed schooling, but was considered very wise and many of his sayings have lived on for generations in the family. My paternal grandfather left the family when my father, the eldest of his three children, was about 6. Never knew him.

Both my granddad’s died before I was 6 months old. One grandma died when I was about 10, my favourite was my mums mum, she was my favourite person, I was her only granddaughter, we had a special bond.

I have so many memories of my grandparents. My dad’s mom had macular degeneration late in her life. We always played Uno at the kitchen table. Slowly, we had to adapt the rules of the game to accommodate her declining vision, my sister and I telling her what color and numbers we were playing. She told stories of working at a diner in town where she served sandwiches to Al Capone and was the only waitress that Joe Lewis’s wife would allow to serve her (and she always gave her a $5 tip). She passed away from cancer when I was a senior in high school.

Yes. Lots of memories of both sets of grandparents. We even lived with one set for a while after our house burned. One grandfather was a farmer and skilled outdoorsman. The other was a sawmill man who loved quail hunting. Both grandmothers were sweet, loving ladies.

A couple memories. On my dad’s side, they died when I was very young. I have a specific memory of my grandmother.
On my mom’s side, they lived in another country and I only saw them once. I only remember seeing them. They didn’t speak English or spend any real time with us when we visited.

I was lucky, I had both sets of grandparents into my late teens. So I do have quite a few memories of them. I cherish them deeply. It's funny how things I didn't particularly like at the time are some of my fondest memories now.

My grandfather on my mother's side is the only grandparent i knew and he didn't spend time with us.
We used to visit a few times a year until he passed away.

Not really. My father's parents died before I was born as did my mother's mother. I have vague memories of my mother's father when we visited him.
