@SW-User I guess they just have something against Russian, female snipers. 🤷♂️

I think she was credited with over 300 kills in the patriotic war as the Russians called it.. Super sniper
Dlrannie · 31-35, F
@SW-User Around a million women served in the Soviet military during WW2. They served as fighter and bomber pilots, machine gunners, battlefield medics, anti aircraft gunners, tank commanders and crew - basically every sector of the military.
braveheart21 · 61-69, M
She was highlighted in a programme on sky history i think but it was not a full lenghth segment... Jyst a little bit about the struggle of the Russian people in the Great Patriotic War... @SW-User

@braveheart21 Thank you. I have also just noticed this: Clearly, Sniper Wolf in MGS must be based on/inspired by her. Must be...has to be! Unless her story was not as widely known before 1998 [or before, seeing as how the game was released that year and would have been in development for quite some time before that].
I'll probably be looking for books on this sort of thing as well. I prefer non-fiction to fiction these days, generally speaking.

Sniper? I know Ludmila Pavlichenko (Spelling???) Is a famous Soviet Sniper, but I don't really know what she looks like.
antonioio · 70-79, M
Lady death was the most famous but I don't think that's her 🤔
SW-User
@antonioio I did not know that! Something to do with the physiology or cognitive traits of women? Or both?
Dlrannie · 31-35, F
@antonioio The Soviet BT tanks that preceded the T34 were based on designs by the American Engineer J Walter Christie. The T34 was a new design by the Kharkov Komintern Locomotive Plant under the leadership of Mikhail Koshkin. The only relationship to America was that it used a suspension system originally developed by J Walter Christie. The T34 went on to become one of the most produced and successful tanks of WW2. Ironically while Christie’s suspension system was used by Soviet, Polish and British Tank Designer’s it was almost totally ignored by the Americans. America did design a Heavy Tank in 1945 which they strangely called the T34 and was supposed to be the US equivalent of a German Tiger Tank - only two of which were built

@SW-User That was Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman in space. But not the woman in the picture.
