is it age or alcoholism?

I used to be a spelling maniac. I knew how to spell everything.

now....I am constantly second guessing myself and googling spelling.

the latest was "unapproachable". I got that one on the first try and I am literally shocked. but its an easy one. or should be.

by the way, the title is rhetorical.

I know its most likely due to alcohol thats deteriorating me.

if only every word was spelled phonetically 😭

sure it's just age or autocorrect
maturedragon · 26-30, M
@HellsBelle it is SW etiquette (had to google this word 😆) to thank the person for bc lol
HellsBelle · 31-35, F
@maturedragon well I thank you, for thanking me.
maturedragon · 26-30, M
@HellsBelle well at lest it's not Dyslexia

It really fucks your brain. My dad could barely remember how much time had gone by. By the end of his life he was talking as if me and my sister were still kids.
KuroNeko · 41-45, F
@HellsBelle Actually, no. I smoke weed very occasionally these days. I'm not reliant on anything. I rarely drink, it just isn't something I would ever allow myself to get into. Don't get me wrong, I have been through terrible times in my life, but I have used his mistakes as a lesson, not something to follow.
HellsBelle · 31-35, F
@KuroNeko YES!!! I love that. I am starting to see that as well. learning what "not" to do
KuroNeko · 41-45, F
@HellsBelle I really hope you can get through this and have a life away from the booze. I have seen it ruin so many lives, it robbed me of my Dad for most of my life. Stay strong and always search for the good things in life, no matter how small. 🤗🙏

Not lecturing and none of my business. Please watch the intake of alcohol. The liver can only take so much before scarring develops. Up to a point, regeneration is possible. Beyond, it’s too late. Look into natural supplements and foods that really help the liver and use them daily. It’s wise to cut down the amount and frequency. A good start is no day drinking, etc. I hope you are not offended. Management is key. 😊🌷
HellsBelle · 31-35, F
@Oster1 no offense taken, I love this. I am not quite alcoholic, I never and have never day drank (on the weekday). I just (used to) drink hard liquor at night. it started affecting my job (just with call outs) and so I only drink on weekends now. I would like to transition to not drinking at all.
alcohol causes premature aging. I hope you can feel better that you dont need it
HellsBelle · 31-35, F
@PepsiColaP I didnt know you have seen me. now I want to say Im ugly, to be more humble. 🤦‍♀️ I am just working on my skincare and overall health and I need to improve ten fold to make up for what I have done to myself
@HellsBelle yes I remember you on selfie threads. You have big green eyes right? Or greenish anyway. haha being truthful doesn't make you any less humble. I think that's very good .
HellsBelle · 31-35, F
@PepsiColaP lol yes, I do. my green devouring eyes
In my Opinion it's neither because autocorrect has made us all automatically lazy. If you don't use it you lose it so to speak. We've become so reliant on auto correct that we have forgotten everything we learned years past. I discovered this when my auto correct accidentally turned off and I felt crippled
HellsBelle · 31-35, F
@RadiantRuby I love this. "use it or lose it" is a favorite phrase of mine.
Oster1 · M
@HellsBelle Thank you. You are very sweet. Yes, you have a very healthy attitude and approach. I loved reading that and you will be fine. I like to drink too. Everyone of us has to be careful and vigilant. Please enjoy the rest of your day. 😊🤗🌺
HellsBelle · 31-35, F
@Oster1 just curious, what do you drink and how often?
Oster1 · M
@HellsBelle Pretty much everything. Spirits, Wine and Beer. I’m a big guy with a very high tolerance level and always eat well, while drinking. I’m just always around it, in my circles. I could drink every evening, then get tired of it and go a week or more. Even a month.

My issue was I could keep drinking and really not feel drunk. It’s really ridiculous and not a good thing. Whenever I had the yearly physical my bloodwork was perfect. I never had high enzymes. I had ultrasound of my liver and no scarring. I do not get hangovers, the shakes or strong cravings. My Mother was French and wine was a common thing. My parents enjoyed it but none of us ever had an issue with it. Maybe it’s a genetic thing.

In conclusion, I have seen the devastation that alcohol leaves behind, many times. I was always so worried about it. I do enjoy drinking but have to really watch the amounts. No liver is immune. I know personally 90+ year old people who smoke and drink daily. There are some people who develop and die from Cirrhosis in their twenties. I do believe in supplements and foods, for the liver. Management is the key!
HellsBelle · 31-35, F
@Oster1 what supplements and food? I am always into improving my diet
gdon39 · 41-45, M
I think we’ve all lost our spelling memories due to auto correct and the like. Anymore when I know I don’t know how to spell something I don’t mess with it I just hit the microphone and it spells it for me so much faster than trying to figure it out
HellsBelle · 31-35, F
@gdon39 lmao, yes! I just hate relying on robots. I used to know this shite before cell phones
It's neither, it's the grammar Nazis!
So what if you spell something wrong, it's probably a typo.
@HellsBelle I'm the same, sort of, English language was always my best and favourite subject, I could use long words to pretend I was intelligent. Then poor eyesight, small phones and rushed texts, a few mistakes later and your confidence is shot.
HellsBelle · 31-35, F
@Mindfulness what is your first language? I cant tell....I see you use "ou" but as far as I know thats just british or canadian
@HellsBelle my first language is English, born and bred in Wales and a proud fluent Welsh speaker, but English is the predominant language here.
Tracos · 51-55, M
switch to other languages... finnish is extremely phonetic: if you can read it you can pronounce it and vice versa
HellsBelle · 31-35, F
@Tracos really?! perfect
I can relate and I am not an alcoholic
HellsBelle · 31-35, F
@DrScissorhands are you dyslexic or do you just have a hard time?
That's a new one. Perhaps highlight that in blue and blow that up two font sizes just to be sure @HellsBelle
HellsBelle · 31-35, F
@DrScissorhands im sorry.....i think i responded to the wrong thing.....🤦‍♀️
smiler2012 · 56-60
{@hellsbelle] well why do you not reduce the alcohol intake for a while and see if there is any improvement
HellsBelle · 31-35, F
@smiler2012 oh I have. I used to drink every day. I only drink on the weekends now.
smiler2012 · 56-60
@HellsBelle have you give it long enough to repair itself then
ButterRobot · 51-55, M
its age...i discovered new talents at around 30ish...Im sure thats what your brain is doing. Rerouting connections.
