My dad was a foreigner/immigrant whose English grammar was better than my mom’s and she. Was born here. He worked a lot harder growing up to perfect his English and schools were much stricter

Wouldn't bother me. Everyone now days are too concerned with others are living, while not paying enough attention to their own lives.
