Excellent food, beautiful culture and fascinating history, kind people. I am part-Syrian and I have been to Syria just once. It's not likely I'll be back any time soon. Mostly I am sad about the state of that part of the world. But it is just one region among many with its problems and drawbacks. It's unfortunate that because of its resources and strategic location it's such a battleground for the world's powers.

ik people are gonna be salty about me saying something nice about israel, but israel is revolutionizing water sustainability and has already made unbelievable leaps forwards. Whether you count that as the Arabic world is up to you. Tunisia is also soaring into the twenty-first century if I understand correctly.

A great deal of the world's knowledge base has roots in the Arabic world, especially mathematics. Beauty in art and handcrafts, games (including chess), and architecture.

Things change, sometimes rapidly, and the world would do well to remember that.
