Yes. I would never recommend my own upbringing to anyone, but it did produce a person who was terrified of making other people angry...so perhaps that makes me more polite, (at times).

I have noticed that kids think nothing of encouraging each other to kill themselves, and some actually do...and their language is beyond disgusting. Their difficulty is their mobile phones, and early and constant exposure to horrifying adult trolls on the internet.

My former church actually recommends not allowing children to watch regular television...because it is a desensitization machine that teaches them the wrong attitudes.

The one time my father told my mother he hated me was when I repeated something I had heard on television...because I thought it was funny. (Wasn't funny to him).

@MrsDavis Stupid? Misguided perhaps, but not stupid.

Yes. They have no Repercussions for their actions. They aren’t afraid of mom or dad or the law and can create some label to explain why they are brats.

@Keepitsimple well said my friend.
You hit the nail on the head. Fear of no consequences...I guess this is what it looks like when lack of accountability "trickles down".🤣@Keepitsimple

@AnonymouslyYours I don’t envy people raising kids today. The thought of my kids still living at home because they can’t handle the world is scary.

They aren’t taught to be respectful these days. When I mouthed off there were consequences. I don’t think they have consequences these days.

@MrsDavis Some Parents will defend their child for wrong things they’ve done even if the child is standing there holding the evidence. It happened at a fabric store where my sister-in-law worked. A woman came in with her young boy and he was tearing down racks of buttons and notions. My SIL walked up and told the mother she would appreciate it if she watched her child because he was tearing down the notions & throwing them on the floor. She replied “my son wouldn’t do anything like that” and there that boy was holding handfuls of carded buttons as she said it. That just sets the stage for the child to continue with their mischief throughout life.

i think there's definitely something odd about the youth today.

Nah. Only more indifferent...

No, quite the opposite in my opinion

Most are indoctrinated by satanic leftists, so they become self-entitled and no longer are capable of thinking for themselves.

Leftists destroy minds, cultures and societies.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@therighttothink50 yes and also popular culture leans that way to so those who are heavily into it can be influenced.

I believe people are prepared to participate in dirty deeds which maybe 3-4 decades ago they would have exposed.Evening patti.

I don't know about now but when I was growing up, the kids in my hometown were rude and disrespectful.

I don't know too many kids, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are... Society as a whole is getting meaner.
Most definitely. They have no manners or courtesy. Or consideration for others.

Jack Elam, the character actor who had guest roles in many tv shows and in a lot of Western movies had his eye poked out with a pencil by another kid when he was 12 years old and with a Boy Scout group

I say yes. Kids today are getting fare to much radiation from cell phones and tv's. Also they need to get away from playing video games since they get zero human interaction from it
