Does it matter if tape measure belt clip is scratched a bit?

@Gusman yeah I was trying to take off the belt clip plastic that was on it and it scratched the belt clip a tiny bit so what?

@deadgerbil One time though I was shopping in a hardware store and this customer tried to return a $3 screwdriver because the tip had broke.
He didn't have a receipt so the manager told him to hold on.
A few minutes later the police arrived and handcuffed him and were beating him with batons and using tear gas.

Then the SWAT team showed up and held everyone for questioning. Forensics took the surveillance video footage to their van outside to investigate.

I cannot discuss too much details because I have to give testimony in court, he is being charged with a class A felony but is going to file a suit over police brutality.

Tools DO quickly show signs of wear.
Usually what voids the warranty is if there are obvious signs of misuse but even then most places will just replace with another, if we are talking hand tools. Power tools though, then it is a bit more involved.
