You can use dawn dish soap. Leave it on for about 5 minutes before rinsing it. That will kill them initially. (If you’re looking for a preventative after that, my dogs do really well on Simparica. It’s a pill given every other month)

Head and Shoulders always leaves my dogs fleas with nice shiny exoskeletons... They seem to like the way it gets rid of the pooch's flaky butt skin.

A great prevention is add powdered bakers yeast to their food. They will get less fleas & ticks to begin with.

I use a Seresto collar on my dog. They prevent fleas for 8 months.
