Serious question

im learning how to keep my emotions from taking over. Like if I start out sad during the day I remain sad. Any suggestions or books?

Go to bed at a decent AND CONSISTENT time each day and let your body wake you up. I've become a huge hypocrite about that since the pandemic, but it's very important to emotional stability.

@BlueVeins This ☝
Sleep hygiene is very very important

Before you feel an emotion you will have thought something.

If you are sad, start thinking happy or neutral things, you'll be amazed at how quickly you will learn how to treat and enjoy your emotions:)

@Zeusdelight Thank you, but I dont want to distract myself from my emotions. More like not hold on to them.

@Ohbabe But sometimes emotions are unrealistic because the though we have had to create them is unrealistic. It is better to ignore those ones, so that we can understand and learn from the real ones.

To be sad all day means a series of thoughts is holding you in that emotion. One of those thoughts may be I am going to be sad all day.

i have really bad mood swings from my mental illness but what helps me during some bad mind states like when i have rage panic attacks is grounding myself and using breathing techniques

@Ohbabe i wish i had answers but i hope you find solace, you’re a gem🥺💓

@Ohbabe you’ll always have me to lean on if you need it, above all else remember that sometimes the best you can do is make sure you eat a little bit, stay hydrated, and get rest and that’s perfectly okay❤️

Just be like, "It's ok that I feel like this. This will pass"
Ohbabe · 22-25, F
@DDonde I like that. Thank you
Good luck. You'll be the first female anywhere to have accomplished that.
@Ohbabe that was one of those painful truths.
Ohbabe · 22-25, F
@PainfulTruth no. You seem like you have something you may be holding in. I was speaking of me and bettering myself. I don’t want negativity
@Ohbabe you cannot escape the realities of being female. It isn't a fault. It's just what is.

meditation is really helpful
Zaxel · 26-30, M
@Ohbabe ive never heard of that before. perhaps it signifies that your mind is always working and that the process of calming it down is almost alarming for your mind/body. i'd explore further if possible
Ohbabe · 22-25, F
@Zaxel my therapist talked me through it. Pretty much that there was a lot going on. Attempting to calm down and direct my attention inward was a bit too much,

Take super good care of yourself. You almost have to treat yourself like a baby.
Ohbabe · 22-25, F
@Selah I was told that i’m also unkind to myself. Im doing my best with that too.
