im learning how to keep my emotions from taking over. Like if I start out sad during the day I remain sad. Any suggestions or books?

i have really bad mood swings from my mental illness but what helps me during some bad mind states like when i have rage panic attacks is grounding myself and using breathing techniques

@poisonouscupcake I understand. I have bp disorder and Im currently working on that w my therapist. Whenever I can see her again. But outside of that, I mean emotions in general. If 1 person upsets me I will stay upset the whole day. Or sadness. I was told by a friend to let my emotions come and go. Not to hold on to them. But it’s so fucking hard

@Ohbabe i have bpd so i kind of understand, my mood swings are insanely fast but they can stay for a while sometimes. i’ve never gotten help and am unable to but it’s definitely something to take about with your therapist. for now there must be some techniques online to help minimize your struggles. i get what you mean though, people don’t realize just how hard it is😞

@poisonouscupcake Sorry babe. Bpd can be confusing. I have bipolar disorder, not borderline personality disorder. But thank you 💗

@Ohbabe you’ll always have me to lean on if you need it, above all else remember that sometimes the best you can do is make sure you eat a little bit, stay hydrated, and get rest and that’s perfectly okay❤️
