Who does she think is going to move in if no bugger is working? 🤔
SimpleJess · 22-25, F
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout idk! But oh well lol
firefall · 61-69, M
you should check the law, in the US you generally have to be 30 days overdue on your rent before they can serve an eviction notice.
lots of landlords ignore this, but their notices aren't actually valid then, just a way of scaring people.
if you're in New England, there may well be cheap/free legal aid to advise you

@firefall yeah I won't even bother lol my plane is just to save up money when and how I can, then when the world is open again go find a new place to live close to my work, I'd hate to lose my jerb
James1956 · 61-69, M
Sorry to hear that. The governor here in Ohio has put a hold on repossessions and evictions for 60 to 90 days.

I knew they were doing that for mortgages but wasn’t sure they were doing it for renters too. @James1956
James1956 · 61-69, M
Yep sure did. Also told police not to give tickets for expired drivers license and car plates because the BMV’s closed

You might try reminding her that with all the others in the same boat she may have trouble finding another tenant, and this way you will at least have to pay in the end.😷
Angeliclove · 26-30, F
Why will she evict you? Knowing everything Is pretty much shut down because of coronavirus.
SimpleJess · 22-25, F
@Angeliclove she wants her money lol
Angeliclove · 26-30, F
@SimpleJess Oh wow, good luck 🤞
Melpomene · 26-30, F
If you have a suggestion for the government, I'm sure they'll take it.
If it's rent for March, you had time, if it's for April, your landlord is cruel but you should still be able to find a place for the upcoming month(s), if you can't stay with your family, friends, relatives etc.

@SimpleJess Cruel but it's her apartment and you knew the conditions. Even though many landlords managed to lower their rents due to pandemic, there are still plenty of those who didn't and don't care about the situation. Apparently, older ones are ''living off it''
You have the right to be hurt but she also has the right to ask for it, if that's the agreement

@Melpomene and your point is
Melpomene · 26-30, F
@SimpleJess Don't stress too much and people don't owe you any favours. Sure it'd be nice but life is shit, people are dying and you're the only one responsible for yourself.

Sorry. That’s unfortunate
Spoiledbrat · F
That’s not cool.

Hoping that bill gets passed finally and you get your $1200.
SimpleJess · 22-25, F
@Ryannnnnn even if they do and I get it I won't give it to her after today id rather just go back to my grandma's, I've even gave her advances on my rent before cuz she was in a pickle, but ehh lol just how some people are I suppose
Ryannnnnn · 31-35, M
@SimpleJess Eh she sounds like a cunt. I hope the next tenant uses her walls as a jizz rag.
xixgun · M
Double check- I heard the Federal Government is suspending all evictions until this crap is over
Mamapolo2016 · F
What state are you in?
Mamapolo2016 · F
@SimpleJess I sympathize about the cheddar.
Even it your state hasn't made any rules about evictions, if your state and area are in lockdown, odds are excellent they are not holding eviction courts. Most places that shut down things like eviction courts have, in effect, a 30-day stay on evictions because the renter can't challenge it. Call your local Legal Aid.

@Mamapolo2016 yeah but I'm not even going to bother, I've helped her out in the past, ik other people won't cuz how she acts, so I think it'll bite her in the butt sooner or later, ik she likes gambling lol
smiler2012 · 61-69
@SimpleJess is this over long term back rent or because of your financial situation unable to work with the corona virus
Butterflykisses24 · 51-55, F
I'm unsure it would stick in court right now
