What life truth that you tried to ignore did you finally just have to face and accept?

You can't be everyone's saviour, especially when you haven't saved yourself.
Sapio · 46-50, M
@LukeTheDuke thank you and @Tomorrow thank you for best answer.
Tomorrow · 56-60, F
@Sapio You're welcome. I think everyone needs to hear that - either for the first time or as a reminder.
Sapio · 46-50, M
@Tomorrow agreed.

Not everyone will like you, despite any efforts you make to be likeable and friendly to all.

Also, desperation to make friends is easily detected by others.
I took far too long to learn this and had to go through so much to realise people don’t value you if you seem at all lonely.if you seem popular, exciting or self confident it attracts like a magnet@Tomorrow
Tomorrow · 56-60, F
@LukeTheDuke Just be yourself. That way you'll attract the right kind of people. :)
I do act myself, but not a lot of people like or get my humour, appreciate my sarcasm, share my values, enjoy sentimentality or nostalgia, or necessarily want to be my friend. I will never ever come close to winning a popularity contest. Which led me to another valuable lesson, I really have to like and value my own company first and foremost; and then if anyone wants to share time with me then that is a bonus. @Tomorrow

That I’m always going to want to do drugs no matter how long I have sober
Tomorrow · 56-60, F
@Syktur Sadly I have heard that from others before too. Good luck! Stay strong! 💪

Life doesn't always work out for some people despite them trying really hard.
Tomorrow · 56-60, F
@DearAmbellina2113 Sigh. Yes.

That I’m sexually attracted to men as well as to women.
clamenza · 56-60, M
Getting old.. grey hair and creaking bones . Lol
Tomorrow · 56-60, F
@clamenza Ugh. It gets us all. But I am still fighting the grey hair. ;)
IndridCold · 46-50, M
That I just can't ride a motorcycle for as long as I used to be able to. My hands just go numb to the point of being hard to hold on.
Tomorrow · 56-60, F
@IndridCold Bummer. Sorry. It is possible you have a compressed nerve somewhere and can be helped through physical therapy or stretching. I'd check with the doc next time you see him, tell him what'sgoing on. It's possible there's a fix for it. Good luck.

Tomorrow · 56-60, F
@Foxyfoxfox O lord yes!
Tomorrow · 56-60, F
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout I haven't faced that one yet! 😜 Not saying it's not a thing...
Mindful · 56-60, F
I’m very selfish.
Last June I finally put the Ms.Clairol away and came to terms with growing out my white/silver hair. I decided healthy grey hair was better than thinning dyed hair.
Tomorrow · 56-60, F
@bijouxbroussard I haven't gotten there yet... Sigh.
SubstantialKick · 31-35, M
@bijouxbroussard My mother is 63 and she dyes her hair to make herself look younger.
@SubstantialKick I know dark hair makes me look younger, but dyeing it was making it thin.
