What is the coldest temperature you have seen at your house so far this Fall?

I live in Maine and last night it was 3゚ before I went to bed at midnight.

It's too badd it got cold fast this year I got a late start growing chili peppers this year and a lot of them were unable to fully ripen I worth growing jalapeno peppers serrano peppers Cayenne peppers Habanero peppers and ghost peppers and I brought them in out of the cold a few weeks ago under grow lights but that was only in the loft above the garage which is not weatherproof and it still got too cold in killed the plants so I am going to have to start really early next year
@Jeremazing13 Are your summers hot?
Jeremazing13 · 26-30, M
@FrogManSometimesLooksBothWays The summers aren't necessarily hot we may get a few days or a week that are in the upper eighties to mid nineties we had 2 or 3 days this summer that hit about 95゚ and about 6 years ago we had a week where it hit 95° to a 102° however typically we never get over 90 except maybe once or twice a summer so it's not usually all that warm it's usually anywhere from 75 to 85 degrees here on the average day.

From what I assume your definition of being hot is I would say it's not that warm here during the summer compared to all the other warmer climates in the United States like California Arizona or Florida but it does get fairly warm sometimes for where we are but you'd think the opposit of how it actually works I always thought when I was growing up as a kid the more North you went the warmer it got because the northern end of a thermometer means warmer then the bottom but the south is definitely warmer
@Jeremazing13 Interesting. Thanks!

@exexec The coldest I've ever seen it on the thermometer at my house here in Maine during the Winter is -25
exexec · 61-69, C
@Jeremazing13 We rarely have a hard freeze, and this is early for even a light one. There was ice on the bird bath, so it froze a little.
Jeremazing13 · 26-30, M
@exexec That's crazy for Southern Texas I know most of the country has been a lot colder than normal Which is unfortunate as you can read above it really affected me growing my chili peppers this year but I will definitely get a earlier start next year start them in small trays in the house in February in when I'm sure it will not go below freezing at all I will then put them into plant pots outside I never plant them in the ground because I'm never sure if they will all be ready to pick before it gets too cold outside

@smileylovesgaming That is a little chilly but not too bad so far
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
@Jeremazing13 it is pretty cold for Oklahoma
Jeremazing13 · 26-30, M
@smileylovesgaming Google told me the average temperature in November for Oklahoma is in the mid to upper thirties so 17 isn't too bad just a little cooler than normal

I am 24 and the coldest I've ever seen it personally in Maine Is -25
Jeremazing13 · 26-30, M
@dale74 hopefully not

@Jeremazing13 what's bad is when your doctor diagnoses you with the flu and then celebrates because you're his first flu patient of the season and him and his staff just one dinner from the rest of the doctors in the clinic and all you get therma flu and they're going out for steak dinner
Jeremazing13 · 26-30, M
@dale74 that's terrible

15 a couple nights ago. Almost set a new record low for that day here.

@cherokeepatti Where do you live here in Maine the coldest I have ever seen it on the thermometer during the Winter is -25
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Jeremazing13 Oklahoma. I have seen -20 temps at night but it in December 1985...so cold I was yipping from the wind blowing around walking from one building to another at work, and I had a heavy coat and warm clothes under it.

@eli1601 I thought it might be warmer than that because here in Maine the warmest temperature I think I remember seeing is 105°F once 1 day many years ago

@Jeremazing13 We are usually a few degrees less than Phoenix. Phoenix itself can get up to 120, although that's very rare. In June, usually the hottest month, 113-115F is more common and Tucson is cooler than Phoenix by a few degrees.
