You're sorely mistaken if you think CNN is "liberal media." There's nothing liberal about CNN; they're a corporate establishment media outlet. They're nominally liberal on social issues, but other than that, they're as establishment as anyone.

@SW-User I'm an ethnic Gypsy, so that's pretty much synonymous with "career criminal." Although I'm trying to reform. I'm in school, studying astronomy. I want to pursue a job with a research institution. I'd be the first person in my family to secure a legitimate job other than working for the state of federal government (for ulterior motives of course) in over six generations.

@BlueMetalChick You are mistaken. These are the same people who support the green new deal. It doesn't get anymore liberal than that. How can you say they're not liberal? At guaranteed income for every American, mandated equal pay for women and minorities, universal healthcare, censorship of the internet, free college... The democrats are very liberal. They just don't come out and say what they really want for America because it would hurt their candidacy if people knew.

@Shapeshifter Guaranteed income is not liberal, and neither is censorship of the internet. Universal healthcare is liberal, and so is free college and mandated equal pay. Those things are. But CNN and other so-called "liberal media outlets" don't support those things. You'll hear nothing from CNN and MSNBC about how universal healthcare and nationalized education other than that they are "Venezuela."
The democrats are not liberal at all. Most democrats oppose universal healthcare, nationalized education, noninterventionism, infrastructure spending, an end to outsourcing deals and free trade agreements, abolishing corporate subsidies, quantitative easing for big banks, and outlawing stock buybacks and chained CPI. Most democrats also support the existence of defense contractors, private health insurance, and for-profit prisons. Every bit of that is in stark contrast to liberalism.

Ironically mainstream outfits like CNN, Fox etc do actually fact-check with reasonable accuracy, publish retractions, etc.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Of course they only report opinion as you retards well know. @QuixoticSoul
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@jackjjackson They also report opinion, and analysis - this and the selection emphasis are the prime vehicles of editorial bias. But they also report news, with reasonable accuracy.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Perhaps a selected portion to accomplish their objectives. They’re no longer fooling most people. @QuixoticSoul

since when did FB become a news source ? I dont have FB anymore - do they report news now ? or is still just a bland social media gossip network where the over 40 crowd brags about their families 🤮
Budwick · 70-79, M
I'm guessing this is reporting from who else?
The left wing media.
I noticed a user defending the media, saying they fact check, and offer retractions. How do you fact check hearsay? And retractions come AFTER the damage is done.
May the left wing media fall off a high cliff into molten lava, with no life preservers.

@jackjjackson Sounds like any publication with enough reputation to actually have closely placed sources.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
CNN specializes in placed sources that toe the party line and will say whatever they are told. @QuixoticSoul

@jackjjackson Right, CNN is totes controlling various federal officials, often appointed, and forces them to say things that they otherwise wouldn't have said 🤔
On top of this, most "unnamed official in the administration said..." stories we come across in the mainstream media actually end up panning out. Leftoids whined about it during Obama's term, who fought a quiet war with NYT. Now rightoids are whining about it, and the prez has regular moussolini-tinged breakdowns over this stuff.
As far as I'm concerned, shit like that is a primary function of the media, the public needs that backchannel. Plus, it generates primo drama.
