I'm guessing this is reporting from who else?
The left wing media.
I noticed a user defending the media, saying they fact check, and offer retractions. How do you fact check hearsay? And retractions come AFTER the damage is done.
May the left wing media fall off a high cliff into molten lava, with no life preservers.

@Budwick By "hearsay", do you mean the usual rightoid whining about inconvenient "unnamed official in the administration said..." stories?
jackjjackson · 70-79, M
That sounds exactly like CNN. You must be paying careful attention. @QuixoticSoul

@jackjjackson Sounds like any publication with enough reputation to actually have closely placed sources.
jackjjackson · 70-79, M
CNN specializes in placed sources that toe the party line and will say whatever they are told. @QuixoticSoul

@jackjjackson Right, CNN is totes controlling various federal officials, often appointed, and forces them to say things that they otherwise wouldn't have said 🤔
On top of this, most "unnamed official in the administration said..." stories we come across in the mainstream media actually end up panning out. Leftoids whined about it during Obama's term, who fought a quiet war with NYT. Now rightoids are whining about it, and the prez has regular moussolini-tinged breakdowns over this stuff.
As far as I'm concerned, shit like that is a primary function of the media, the public needs that backchannel. Plus, it generates primo drama.
