Why doesn't the Queen do something about the wicked USA diplomat who ran someone over?

I like the Queen but it makes me so mad an American can just come to my country and run people down and get away with it.

Why should anybody be above the law diplomat or not , what are so special about them that they can break law and claim diplomatic immunity , shame our mps not got in on this as I have heard them say over and over again no one is above the law when on about boris Johnson

@Nyloncapes very true dave politicians need to practice a lot more in what they preach and more than on this issue alone

@Nyloncapes
Has happened in America,too.

It shouldn't happen at all, nobody should be above universal laws.

It is my understanding that it was put into effect, to protect foreign diplomats from coming to a country and not knowing their laws to protect them from things like breaking a traffic law or something similar.

In reality it has been used,as we know,
for everything under the Sun,including murder.

It's an outdated law, I think, and it should be repealed.

The family of Harry Dunn have said their meeting with Dominic Raab - UK Foreign Secretary showed that the police investigation was being deliberately stifled by government on both sides of the Atlantic.

And as a result they intend to travel to the U.S and use U.S media to put pressure on both the U.S. government and Mrs. Sacoolas to try and get her to return to the UK and help with the ongoing police inquiry.

@SW-User Then why the panic ?
I imagine if this had been dealt with under normal circumstances (and i've read nothing to indicate otherwise) Mrs.Sacoolas would immediately have had a 'stop' on her passport. Meaning she couldn't leave the country by 'conventional' means as she was part of an ongoing potentially criminal investigation.

Yet she 'managed' to leave the country.
That to me sounds like somebody with more 'drool than spit' panicked and got her out of the way as quickly as possible !
And now the world knows who and how.

I know how this will likely end.

@Picklebobble2 my immediate thought was her hubby is someone they don't want too many questions about. He's a spy clearly
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@SW-User Exactly. So this buys the U.S a bit of time.
Clearly he won't be able to stay. So they'll have to move him.
Which exposes him to some degree and makes his position untenable no matter where they try and put him !

She on the other hand is now a political liability.
My guess is if there's enough of a clamour she'll be ordered/forced/voluntarily to return.

She'll be followed by the worlds press from departure to landing to being whisked away in a car once she lands.
Loads of photos as she goes into a police station to be 'interviewed'. She may, if there's sufficient evidence even have to appear in court.
Public support will probably demand at least that. And it'll suit all (political) parties to make this at least look like justice is being seen to be done and that America was 'happy to comply with it's oldest allies request'.

It's the government's responsibility, not the Queen.
TheConstantGardener · 56-60, M
@IndigoSavage Well the Foreign Secretary offered a lot of meaningless platitudes to the family of the victim, so that's something 🤷🏻‍♂️

The Queen's a bit too old to go over there and arrest her, herself.

Hahaha... ninja queen!!! 🤣
smiler2012 · 56-60
@IndigoSavage 😄 tell you what lets all go to the states to Washington dc and knock trump-over with a steam roller and keep going 🤔 wait that might be taken as a advantage 😄
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
Try living near the UNited Nations where everyone has diplomatic immunity.
SW-User
The queen has very little power .
And I suppose you know that already, since you live there.
I don't suppose if a regular American citizen came over there and did that they wouldn't go to jail, as they should ,I don't know why diplomats get free rein.
It's about them being a diplomat not an American.
Still stinks.
MarineBob · 56-60, M
It pisses me off that the Brits actually thought they could burn our White House down... Pay back is a .....
Nyloncapes · 61-69, M
@MarineBob we did burn it down
SW-User
@MarineBob honestly, your lack of humanity always shocks me.
So what are you saying we should go over there and run over their people because way back in our history they burnt our White House down?
Is anybody coming today?
SW-User
@Nyloncapes Soliders did way back in the war of 1812
What's the queen supposed to do, that's within her powers in your opinion ?
IndigoSavage · 22-25, F
@SapphicHeart she could be a bit more vocal
@IndigoSavage
Me thinks you misunderstand the role of the queen and the government.
What would you like the monarch to do about it???
IndigoSavage · 22-25, F
@HootyTheNightOwl i dont know
@IndigoSavage There's not really a lot that she can do. At the end of the day, the woman that ran over the boy is a diplomat's wife and i'm sure that she has immunity from being prosicuted through her husband, who was given it from us as a nation. We, as a country can't turn round and say "Yes, that was BEFORE you killed someone".

Given that she's currently out of the country, all we can do is wait for her possibly coming back in future and arrest her then. Or go and invade America - which is plain dumb considering that we can't wipe our own backsides without America to help us (as demonstrated in WW2), further cuts on our military since then has put us in a more vulnerable position, too.
Off with their head!!!!
