The family of Harry Dunn have said their meeting with Dominic Raab - UK Foreign Secretary showed that the police investigation was being deliberately stifled by government on both sides of the Atlantic.
And as a result they intend to travel to the U.S and use U.S media to put pressure on both the U.S. government and Mrs. Sacoolas to try and get her to return to the UK and help with the ongoing police inquiry.

@Picklebobble2 won't happen. Immunity it says it all and neither government want the rules interfered with even by setting a precedent
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@SW-User I think it will be interesting though.
Especially if it turns out Mrs.Sacoolas has 'previous' for similar.

@Picklebobble2 I have to keep saying to people... Immunity. Nothing is going to happen. Its a condition on modern diplomacy USA or UK are too committed to it to so anything in a case like this.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@SW-User ....Unless it turns out her Husband actually IS a spy ! Which would certainly explain the hurried departure !
That exposes his position too !

@Picklebobble2 immunity... You think we haven't got a bunch of spies in the USA under the guise of diplomatic immunity?

SW-User
And that's exactly why they won't want her interviewed in the UK. Imagine the deal.... This will all go away if you tell us what your hubby was up to@Picklebobble2

@SW-User Bigger picture. Have to look at the bigger picture.
Is all that really essential or necessary for what i assume was an accident ?
At what point do you cut people with immunity loose if they start to become a political liability ?

@SW-User That seems to depend on which country you come from. There is a similar case with a US diplomat in Pakistan ehere the US refused to waive immunity. There was alsi a case in the US with a Georgian diplomat, but in this case Georgia waived immunity and he was charged and convicted.

SW-User
@Picklebobble2 this'll blow over its not big enough sorry but has to be said its not. Its one unfortunate accident.

SW-User
@SW-User interesting cases of it being waived are extremely rare

@SW-User the US could waive immunity 🤔

SW-User
@UserNameSW I bet they won't for reason above

@SW-User Then why the panic ?
I imagine if this had been dealt with under normal circumstances (and i've read nothing to indicate otherwise) Mrs.Sacoolas would immediately have had a 'stop' on her passport. Meaning she couldn't leave the country by 'conventional' means as she was part of an ongoing potentially criminal investigation.
Yet she 'managed' to leave the country.
That to me sounds like somebody with more 'drool than spit' panicked and got her out of the way as quickly as possible !
And now the world knows who and how.
I know how this will likely end.

@Picklebobble2 my immediate thought was her hubby is someone they don't want too many questions about. He's a spy clearly
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@SW-User Exactly. So this buys the U.S a bit of time.
Clearly he won't be able to stay. So they'll have to move him.
Which exposes him to some degree and makes his position untenable no matter where they try and put him !
She on the other hand is now a political liability.
My guess is if there's enough of a clamour she'll be ordered/forced/voluntarily to return.
She'll be followed by the worlds press from departure to landing to being whisked away in a car once she lands.
Loads of photos as she goes into a police station to be 'interviewed'. She may, if there's sufficient evidence even have to appear in court.
Public support will probably demand at least that. And it'll suit all (political) parties to make this at least look like justice is being seen to be done and that America was 'happy to comply with it's oldest allies request'.
