ugh that's not a nice thing to hear.

My heart goes out to you and to them, I'm so very sorry... As to your question? My beliefs are not representative of mainstream religion but.. if we believe that we are all part of eternity, born of stardust, temporary manifestations in this world of something greater, overseen by something even more infinite, then what is our life time compared to our eternity? It feels important and big, as does every day to a 5 year old, but to an 'adults' time frame it is as nothing. To a kid a skinned knee or broken toy are shattering, to an adult we may love the kid, empathize and want to make it better, we may help the kid up or not, but they are not as impactful. To our frame a lifetime is everything, these 10, 50, 100 years mean everything. Stepping back and putting that against our millennia, against eternity... That's just how I view things though when bad things happen in life. If that helps you too, great, if not I'm sorry and just pass it by. Hang in there

Thank you for your kind words. It means a lot.

Loss and grief happens to good people. I have my own spiritual philosophy on this. Some day I might post it and share.
Always remember : 'The wound is the place through which light enters'-Rumi.
Stay strong and stay blessed. Prayers
SW-User
@Fernie: prayers for the departed soul. What's the issue? It doesn't matter what ones belief systems are. If something is done with good intent it always is good.

@BigAsset: In my opinion, praying in the middle of a conversation/story created by an obvious atheist is disrespectful and arrogant.
SW-User
@Fernie: I came to know meows is an atheist after she responded to my comnent. It wasn't obvious to me. The intent was neither to be disrespectful, arrogant or insensitive.

That has nothing to do with God. Thats natural life.

Sorry for your lose though
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
I think this is one of the reasons why philosophy was born. To try and explain the inexplicable.

About 2 yrs ago my friend's father was murdered, about 6 months later his mother died of cancer. About 4 months ago my friend then died of cancer. Just before Christmas last year my younger brother's nephew was killed in his own yard by the neighbor's guard dog which climbed the fence.

I could right a book about such things that have occurred to people I know. I now study metaphysics by reading and reading more in order to try and understand. Life on Earth is odd to say the least. I would like to understand why.
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
@Meowsolini: Personally I don't think that the answer is to be found in religion. It's too limiting and hypocritical. I don't rant at "God" anymore because I know that the gods of religion are basically fake. What us Humans are experiencing on Earth we have done to ourselves. We need to help ourselves.

It is horrid, and I feel your pain. I am so sorry. In answer to your question, because his mission was and is, to seek and to save. Not be manipulated at will and treated as a gift horse at our every request, and I'm not referring to you. People want everything from God, yet are unwilling to give anything in return. He feels our infirmities. He wept at Lazurus' funeral. His Word says He is nigh to those with a broken spirit and heart. He feels every teardrop. He wants to help, but we always turn him away. He wants to comfort, as well, and does. I know. I lost two children. He's there for any who will call upon him. Like I said...there's a zillion reasons why things go wrong and people die, but people always want to blame Jesus, when he was the very one who suffered so horrifically like no other man in history, when he died on the cross for our sins so we could have eternal life. Witnesses saw this. Not one, not 10, not 100, but over 500 people witnessed his death and resurrection. He didn't have to die for our sins, either, but because He loves us so, He volunteered. If that isn't love, I don't know what is. May He comfort you and your family's hearts. My deepest condolences. @Meowsolini:
Charlotte · 70-79, F
@Wraithorn: Respectfully....All you've said is true. Except your last line.

The answer is never to be found in "religion". Anyone can have religion, but a personal relationship with God is different. Religion didn't suffer and die on the cross for our sins. Jesus did. And yes, there are far too many who claim to be Christians, but are not genuine. But that doesn't make the whole barrel bad.

Yes!! Finally somebody gets it. There is only one God...Jesus Christ. All the other gods of religion are most definitely fake. They cannot hear you, they do not see you, and they cannot speak to your heart. They are dead. They are idols. Not to be worshipped. Phoney...completely fake.

Yes. What we are experiencing here on earth is definitely our own doing. But we cannot help our own selves. And that's exactly Jesus' purpose in coming to earth. To help us. To guide us. Not one person on earth can earn his or her way to heaven. But through Jesus, this is possible. Only through Him.

I can't even imagine the level of sadness and anger and grief she felt...still feels
SW-User
I am so sorry to hear that. I have to wonder how a person keeps on going.
SW-User
So sorry, even I doubt whether God really exists now..I only wanted one thing in my life since 7th grade and I haven't got it yet..shows how much "God" cares
Charlotte · 70-79, F
QueenOfQuirk: I don't remember asking for your disrespectful filthy dialogue either. No need to blame God for everything, was my point.
SW-User
@Grace2016: I don't care about your point
Charlotte · 70-79, F
@QueenOfQuirk: Okay then. Enough said. I respect your decision.
SW-User
if they were killed blame the person that actually did it
SW-User
I wish I could KILL heroin and cancer.
I'm sorry to hear that. 😔 I understand. "God" can stick it.
SW-User
Thank you
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
:-( I was wondering why you've had such a heavy heart since the wedding. That's very sad and it's why I don't really believe in God or any kind of a higher power.
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
That's heartbreaking.:-( I have nothing meaningful or helpful to say because there really isn't anything TO say. I'm here for you if you want to talk or just need to vent. Hugs.
SW-User
@NigelDoes: No, there isn't. Thanks for being a friend.
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
Always. Hang in there.
Fernie · F
because there ain't no invisible sky fairy
SW-User
No, there sure isn't.
Booyeah · 41-45, M
Is God supposed to make everything rosy and cheery?
Charlotte · 70-79, F
And a poor one at that. I've read all your responses. They do not reflect who you say you are. That's the problem. Not God or His Word.
dystopianAntihero · 56-60, M
@Grace2016: Again, you express such concern for the lady's pain, but apparently have no regard for what she herself expressed on the matter. Yet again another blatant example of v issue which Christ rained verbal hellfire & brimstone down on the religious leaders of his day: hypocracy.
Charlotte · 70-79, F
Say what? lol
aradia11 · 61-69, F
So sorry to hear we never know or understand WHY..my friend lost her dad then mom. And beloved cat within 14 months time...it was rough..
We can only allow time to heal us..
SW-User
Thank you.
SW-User
Sorry to hear, no parent should have to bury their own kids.
SW-User
No, they shouldn't and thank you.
SW-User
I wouldn't insult your intelligence by saying that.
dystopianAntihero · 56-60, M
Sorry, Meow :(
dystopianAntihero · 56-60, M
Anger is actually a natural response to death, if that's any consolation at all. It doesn't bring them back, but knowing that may help your process things. :/
SW-User
@dystopianAntihero: Yeah, it is. Thank you for understanding.
Charlotte · 70-79, F
@Meowsolini: And rightfully so. It's a terrible hurt.
Charlotte · 70-79, F
I'm so sorry for your loss, but why blame God? He is the giver of life. He creates. The bible says that Satan is the author of death and destruction. Death is unfortunately a part of life, as is birth. Sometimes we bring about death ourselves, in so many different ways.
SW-User
Blame him? THERE IS NO GOD.
SW-User
So sorry to hear that.
ReaperofTime · 46-50, M
Or when members of their own family deliberately try and destroy everything theyve worked very hard to build I agree
:( sorry to hear that
yesss I can understand that , iv just answered another question regarding " God " , a young girl posted that she's sick and tired of people pushing religion and God onto her and I gave her a simple question to ask those preachers and this question will surly keep them at bay with the head stuck up their arses , simple question to ask is " where is the proof " I'm sorry once again for ur loss :( @Meowsolini:
SW-User
@Georgimy: Thank you. NOTHING about this is "God's way."
:)

@sighmeupforthat: I am in shock at the moment. I live 1700 miles away and can do nothing. I am heartbroken and frustrated.
