While it's important to judge people as individuals, the Boomers in aggregate did kind of inherit a resource rich and beautiful country and flagrantly exploit it for short-term profits. They also started all kinds of batshit crazy military interventions that made the world less safe at the expense of the deficit growing.
Elevatorpitches · F
They found out we were a magnificent generation and had choices they never had and never will. But they don't wanna copy our ways.

The arguments I usually here are: college was much cheaper for baby boomers, they polluted the environment, baby boomers hold all of the wealth and make it hard for millennials and generated x to succeed. @Elevatorpitches

I don’t know, why do baby boomers complain about millennials all the time?
Generations are just another form of tribalism; it’s more “us vs. them” crap. I can’t believe people fall for it. As if people who are born in the same 20 year period have so much in common...

@SW-User I am glad you are able to look past that, and I find it very honorable :) However, go to other site that cater mostly to Millennials and Gen Z, like Buzzfeed, and you will see your peers viciously attack and blame Boomers and Gen X'ers for for exactly what I mentioned, and it is stemming from public schools and universities.
SW-User
I’m sure they do but part of why I’m here is because there’s a wider variety of age groups and I don’t want to be around other young people all the time. Lol.@NativeOregonian
NativeOregonian · 51-55
@SW-User And you wanting to be around a more diverse range of ages says you are more open to seeing how people really are, instead of relying on what your peers say. That is a good thing :)

Maybe they envy the fun and freedom of the 1960s. Today many kids just stay in their room... hooked on internet.
Elevatorpitches · F
@ImKelsey they were richer and more equallly so, had more opportunity to be outrageous safely
Because they ruined the environment and the job market and then they have the gall to complain about millennials
Aidan · 26-30, F
I don’t
NativeOregonian · 51-55
Because they are taught by their teachers and professors that baby boomers are the cause of all their problems.
Elevatorpitches · F
@NativeOregonian Yup I know that happened. The government was FURIOUS at what we were succeeding in doing and they designed deliberately to CRUSH ALL THIS and they succeeded.
NeuroticByNature · 41-45, F
Because boomers make fun of millennials.
yfma53 · 70-79, M
@NeuroticByNature They do? Well, I certainly don't. Making fun of people because of when they were born! Humans will find any reason to separate themselves from others. Sad and rediculous.
NeuroticByNature · 41-45, F
@yfma53 true enough.
WetpantsBoy · M
I am a Baby Boomer. Every Millennial I know and work with likes me.🙂
SW-User
I dont hate anyone. Many older people are fucking mean af and judgemental though.
SW-User
I bet you look 35 years older and its your attitude. said go away now . @NativeOregonian
NativeOregonian · 51-55
@SW-User Actually, when I shave, I can pass for early 30's.
NativeOregonian · 51-55
@SW-User My attitude is just fine, let me guess, mommy and daddy didn't give you the attention you craved because you were so clingly and spoiled.
JohnOinger · 41-45, M
Not Me My Parents Are Baby Boomers
purplepen · 51-55, F
Because of the stupid concept of people being a burden on the system as they get older.
NativeOregonian · 51-55
@purplepen No, us Gen X'ers never did that to the WW II generation, we respected them. But for some reason the Millennials and Gen Z blame the boomers for everything, and the source seems to be coming from the schools they go to.
Elevatorpitches · F
@NativeOregonian The schools now are the most egregious harbingers of BIGOTRY
The good teachers get drummed out..into administration at best or on the unemployment line...like the rest of America's mmost unwanted citizens

yfma53 · 70-79, M
It really just comes down to "keeping our own cage clean", doesn't it? All generations have their problem children.
milf69man69 · M
because they hold the power and are successful???
NativeOregonian · 51-55
@milf69man69 No, they do not collectively hold the power. If anything, they are being subjugated just as bad as all the other generations when it comes to deciding whether to eat or get their medications. You see more and more Boomers working way past retirement because Enron and Madoff wiped out millions upon millions of retirement investments, leaving multitudes with only piddly social security checks. People like you need to think before you speak.
Elevatorpitches · F
@NativeOregonian its not just envy although I would be envious if the tables were turned... The times were so different, we felt more freedom of choice, money went further and we were way more innocent about how complicated the world really is, no internet till way later...
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
They tend to have a know-it-all attitude.
