Has social media impacted your real life in any way?

Yes it has had an impact. A few negative. A few positive. But the most amazing impact it has had was introducing me to the most amazing woman in my life to this day.

I think it's taught me a lot about people I would never have in real.
It's not negatively impacted my real life in any way.

It has kept me more in touch with others (as I tend to keep to myself when left to my own devices). I have become more aware of what was going on in the lives of friends and extended family (whether that be finding out about deaths/illnesses or about weddings/graduations). I have even been able to attend a couple of functions I might not have been aware of had it not been for the internet.
In a sense the internet has brought people closer.....but on the other hand, there’s so much out there that it becomes confusing and at times even misleading. Like anything else, I thing social media/the internet is a tool that can be used to our benefit, but a tool we must use carefully.

Oh, absolutely. EP was more constructive for me, I was writing essays constantly about all kinds of topics, sharing with others who had similar interests, and I made substantial connections with people. Met my ex-bf on EP, too. I still get some use out of online interactions, but it's gotten to the point where it's mostly a distraction now. SW is not the same... The Internet is not the same, these days... What keeps me coming back is simply having a place to express what I want to express, and getting to interact with people, if only in a very limited way. I also think a lot, so it's really nice to have a space to choose my words carefully and hash out my thoughts.

Yes. Not like here. But a long time ago in 2006 I started a blog it principally was about my experience in recovery from alcoholism esp as my mum died on 2006. However my passion about music came in too. So I had a mix of readers including several musicians.
One of them introduced me to an opportunity to play a solo acoustic gig, not what I'd really been working on or planning to do. We were actually working on a band project at that point.
However next 4 years I did two albums and loads of gigs as solo artist all through that connection.

It has, in many ways. I've learned quite a bit, through my interactions with people from all over the world, and developed some life long friendships.

I bought a bag of frozen raspberries then I looked on social media saying there is a recall because it could contain the Norovirus, so I avoided that one...Thanks Social Media

I'm the same in real life as I have been. It hasn't changed that.

The social networking aspect of it has. That is not this site but EP, the early days of 2006-2011 were.

As I said in my about me I am an LGBTQ+ and mental heath awareness advocate. (two separate issues) I can't be that here. In the blogging network however I know I can affect others so their lives mat be easier.

About the only true way it has affected me on a daily basic is that through youtube and other video music outlets music has come into life I may have not otherwise heard. In that sense I am richer. Seeing as how long threads can be on those pages it qualifies as social media.

Indeed it has affected it, has made me question a lot a lot of things..

It has expanded the circle of people in my life, increasing the number of really nice/cool people and and the vile/nasty types.

No real changes...

I find that I’m always changing something about my life from data I find on social media, TV, radio, human interaction, etc.

I do have to admit social media gives me a lot more opinions than the other ways of interaction.

Social media is little bit affecting my life.

I accidentally had argument with customers and I already apologised.

Next day, the customers looking annoying to me and start talking to each other.

They viral everything happens.
Mostly bad or unpleasant..

I have been exposed to opinions and other people's experiences that I never would have before. I'm not saying they all desired or wanted, but I feel like I'm less naive as a result. Plus some have been eye-opening and informative.

No I didn't let it... And when I realised it's starting to affect my real life( in a negative way) I decided to move out of most of the social media. Now I am only on sw, youtube, reddit. Nothing else.

It has made me more sociable. I used to not communicate with anybody, more or less.

I still am like that offline, yet when I do chat it is easier.

The biggest help is that I learned women actually like me. Gosh, I wish I were physically desirable so a woman would be interested in me on sight, initially, and then maybe want to talk. Usually they look at me in disgust if I am looking at them.

On here I can win them over with my words well before they see how fat, old, and ugly I am.

Now, women on here often say I am not ugly, and they like me. They never say they want to be my boyfriend, though. They are always full of advice on how to meet women but none ever want to be that woman I meet. They tell me I hope I find her when usually I don't want these imaginary women, I want to be with the woman who is advising me.

I want a cuddle buddy not an advisor. Sigh.
