How important is the public library in your neighborhood?

What impact would closing the library have on your community?

They're pretty important. We have loads, but they offer important resources for immigrants and children. I think that matters a lot.

Libraries are precious. It's one of the only places left in society where you can walk in without someone trying to sell you shit. Huge access to books, movies, even games. There's even stuff like tool libraries around if you need to borrow a hammer.

Huge asset to the community and huge asset to the poor.

Kids would have to find some other place to study and old ladies would have to find some other place to read magazines I guess.
Theyre "resource centers" now.

There are 3 libraries in this city and it would have some negative effects, a lot of students go there to do research or print papers, etc. not to mention the programs...and older people have more time and like to visit.
It’s prolly important to keep a hard copy somewhere.. but everyone has a library in their pocket these days. Information and stories
It’s practically for nostalgic purpose at this point...

Having fun isn't hard when you've got a library card
Edit: In all seriousness it's basically a daycare here. I tried taking my laptop there to work and it was too loud.
