Thing's people say to you that sound shallow?

Rutterman · 46-50, M
"Just be yourself."

@bijouxbroussard Aw...thank you. 🤗
@Rutterman That one’s actually not bad for you. 🦋

@DarkHeaven Very nice of you to say. Thanks. 🤗

“I’m not like everyone else” sounds pretty shallow to me. It’s assuming they know anything real about...everyone. They saw the surface of people in general and then wrote everyone off as not worth knowing anything deep about.
“It’ll get better.” Sometimes it fucking doesn’t. Or “You can get through this.” How the fuck would they know that. Maybe I fucking can’t. Those two.

Don’t go in the deep end of the pool. Go here.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
"I hope you get everything you have coming to you."
"If you need anything, just let me know"
Ha ! “You look good—for your age.” 🤨
@DarkHeaven Thank you. Likewise. 🤗
@bijouxbroussard 🖤🤗

@bijouxbroussard I don't doubt most people mean it as a compliment.

While working as a bartender a customer came in that had not seen me in a while. He said, "Damn, you sure are beautiful, but....you were HOT before you gained that weight." Then he continued to stare at me and flirt throughout the night as if I should just be so grateful for his backhanded compliment.

You need drug and alcohol to have fun. You need to live as per them, else your life sucks.
If you argue with their friends, then you are automatically wrong.
If you are friends with them, you need to be friends with all their friends.

I can't think of anything....even cliches, for me, are meanigful. Bottom line: it's how people say things.
