Do You know how to use a zucchini ?

Yes, a zucchini. You know, those long green squashes that grow so well in the summertime. 😜

I prepare them a lot of different ways. If you chop them into slices about 1/2" thick, you can dip them in tempura batter and deep fry the slices. They are delicious that way.

I also cut them in half the long way, scoop out the seeds, to make a long hollow with a spoon, and I put cooked crumbled italian sausage mixed with stuffing in side the hollow area and top it with cheddar and parmesan cheese.

You can fry slices in the tempura batter and then build a zucchini parmesan casserole, layering the slices with alternating layers of marinara sauce, cheddar, mozzarella, and parmesan cheese.

You can also make a very nice zucchini bread with them, which is a quick bread like pumpkin bread, and you can make a bread pudding with that bread.

Sometimes the small ones are great just plain...sliced, steamed, and drenched in butter.

And then there is pasta primavera...or lasagna primavera. Zucchini is called for in both.

Sounds delicious 😋 I’ve made the breads before and in pasta ,never deep fried them though . Thanks ,I’ll have to give it a go 😊 @4meAndyou

@SW-User They sell tempura mix at the market. You can add water or beer...beer is best if you drink.

Think I could manage to make it though . I’m not a boughtin kinda guy. lol
Thanks ☺️@4meAndyou
Cut them up and spread them on a baking sheet with onions, and pepper and bake them with salt and olive oil and use it for a spring tomato sauce to go with pasta
Spiral grate them then use it like noodles!
Fungirlmmm · 51-55, F
@Vivaci They do make great noodles. I put carrots in the spiralizer too.
@Fungirlmmm IKR? Healthy and easy to make. ☺️
Glossy · F
@Vivaci If you spiral-grate them, the thread you make down their sides turns them into a giant screw.
Just sayin'.

Sure. You take that sucker and scoop it out like a canoe. Then stuff the inside with a mixture of crumbled hot sausage, dried bread crumbs, and cheese. Then you bake it for about 40 minutes at 350.

OR...you can slice it and dip the slices in tempura batter and deep fry the slices.

OR...you can slice them and toss them in spaghetti sauce and put them in a casserole on top of an absorbent element, like rice, or ditalini. They release a lot of liquid when cooked.

Cheers to,you 🍷@valobasa4ever
SW-User
Well I use them as a food.
It can be cooked various ways.
@SW-User
My granny puts them in about everything. The Japanese slice them up, and stir-fry them.
SW-User
@valobasa4ever I grill them in olive oil. And I use that in my sandwiches or wraps or even as a topping on pizza.
When I was in Turkey I learned to used that as a salad. Drizzle lemon on a grilled courgette and its really tasty.
@SW-User I do use apple cider instead of Lemon.

Cut n' gut n' fill with ground meat n' chili n' cheese n' try to remember how that recipe went again n' why it sucks.
4meAndyou · F
Got a new one for you. Mix together panko bread crumbs and parmesan cheese in a ziploc bag. Drag sliced zucchini through a bowl of flour and then through a bowl of beaten egg, and put each slice in the bag. Shake well and remove. Heat oil in a deep skillet and add zucchini slices up to 6 at a time, flip them after 2-3 minutes, fry 2-3 minutes more and remove to a plate loaded with paper towels to drain. Salt lightly and serve.
@4meAndyou wow , Will try it this weekend ...

Thanks
