Why do some people intermittently use some English words and phrases when you're talking to them in your native language?

It's so weird. Can't they remember that word in their native language or what's the problem?

Maybe they're used to English because they might be living abroad and/or because it's widely used in series, songs, technology etc but I think it's sad to disconnect from one's native language and blindly follow the globalized path.

@HannibalAteMeOut Living abroad might be the case. That is true.

My language is dying
slowly but surely
people don't know and have forgotten how to speak it in a pure way

@SW-User :( What's your language?
It looks like it happens everywhere.

I do this and yes, I can’t. Then again it’s not really my native language, it’s my parents.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@NickiHijab I do it when I really can't remember a specific word and I can only think about the foreign expression. But stuffing every second sentence with English phrases is really weird, considering that you both use your native language everyday and you have absolutely no logical reason to use English. I wonder if it's the way to emphasize something, saying something as if "between the lines" or trying to sound "cool".

It annoys me too.

Often there are no words to translate into.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@samueltyler2 Well, my impression is still that he wants to say something indirectly.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@CrazyMusicLover what is that?
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@samueltyler2 Eh...various things. Reproaches, confessions...
