Why do some people intermittently use some English words and phrases when you're talking to them in your native language?

It's so weird. Can't they remember that word in their native language or what's the problem?

Maybe they're used to English because they might be living abroad and/or because it's widely used in series, songs, technology etc but I think it's sad to disconnect from one's native language and blindly follow the globalized path.
