Why do some people intermittently use some English words and phrases when you're talking to them in your native language?

It's so weird. Can't they remember that word in their native language or what's the problem?

I do this and yes, I can’t. Then again it’s not really my native language, it’s my parents.

@NickiHijab I do it when I really can't remember a specific word and I can only think about the foreign expression. But stuffing every second sentence with English phrases is really weird, considering that you both use your native language everyday and you have absolutely no logical reason to use English. I wonder if it's the way to emphasize something, saying something as if "between the lines" or trying to sound "cool".
