How many Miles/Km of roads are there in you country?

Here it's said to be4,071,000 miles or 6,552,000 km. Paved and unpaved.

141.828 km, however my country is 200 times smaller than the US. So that would be about 28,360,000 km in comparison.

@FailedToFetch That would be nearly wall-to-wall roads 😉

Google says my country has 4.12 million. Beatcha!
frequentlyme · 70-79, M
@hlpflwthat What percent of them ahve you driven?
hlpflwthat · M
Still working on getting my permit ;)
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
How'd you find that out?
frequentlyme · 70-79, M
@Thevy29 Not long ago I was trying to calculate how many miles I've driven in the U.S., and it came up on one of my Google searches.

Ok. I just goggled it and got a wikipedia page. It says for Australia its 823,217km road length and 3,132km for motorways. But I highly doubt that this is accurate.

@Thevy29 Yah, Google and Wikipedia, etc., are often close, but probably not 100% correct.
Gusman · 61-69, M
823 213 km's

@Gusman That's a lot of km's! I've done two 45-day long coast to coast road trips here and still haven't gotten anywhere near seeing even a small part of the country.
Gusman · 61-69, M
@frequentlyme It's a lot of km's but it shows how empty Australia is.
US is 9.8 million square km's, Australia is 7.7 million square km's.
You guys have 5.7 million km's more roads. 85 % of Australians live on the coast. The centre is mostly uninhabited.
I have driven several times across Australia, from Perth to Melbourne which is 3400 km's one way.

@Gusman I think that's part of what makes Australia so fascinating - the vast nothingness. I've only been there once, and that was in the late 60's, and Australia has always been on my top 5 list of countries I like. Also has a lot to do with how warm and friendly the people were.
