How many Miles/Km of roads are there in you country?

Here it's said to be4,071,000 miles or 6,552,000 km. Paved and unpaved.

@Gusman That's a lot of km's! I've done two 45-day long coast to coast road trips here and still haven't gotten anywhere near seeing even a small part of the country.

@frequentlyme It's a lot of km's but it shows how empty Australia is.
US is 9.8 million square km's, Australia is 7.7 million square km's.
You guys have 5.7 million km's more roads. 85 % of Australians live on the coast. The centre is mostly uninhabited.
I have driven several times across Australia, from Perth to Melbourne which is 3400 km's one way.

@Gusman I think that's part of what makes Australia so fascinating - the vast nothingness. I've only been there once, and that was in the late 60's, and Australia has always been on my top 5 list of countries I like. Also has a lot to do with how warm and friendly the people were.
