I would set the blade down. It's a ring, so it isn't going to choke you. You can retrieve it, but you have to pass it through a bowel movement.

I couldn't slit your throats over the ring, but you can just let it pass through and sieve it out, just make sure you clean it thouroghly with some strong cleaning agents lol.
