Do you prefer local trips or out of the country trips for vacation?

I like out of the country once in a while.
But these days, I really wish I could have local trips and tours again. It was really nice. :)

How "local" is "local"?

I have been abroad probably around twenty times over the years, but although my holidays (our name for them) now are in my own country they are hardly "local", as some of my friends I meet live a good 300 miles away.

@ArishMell We call it local if it's in the same country, regardless of the distance.

@Casheyane I see!

@Casheyane in large countries such as Canada, USA and Australia, would define the term "local" rather differently.
I have driven to Cornwall. I have also driven to Scotland. Both are around 7 hours away. Although I haven't left the country, I wouldn't describe these destinations as local either.

Local prolly out of state but not international.

My wife and I are not particularly good travellers. Neither are we as fit as we used to be. In my life I have driven thousands of miles and driving holds no joy for me now.

I generally try to plan breaks to fall within a 3 hour journey time from home. There is plenty to see and do within those limits.

Local trip to the mall drains me.

Travelling alone to a different country will not be great for me.
Out of the country. It’s the only way to get my husband to stop focusing on work.

Do make more local trips,as they cost less.Still.so much to do on your own doorstep.
But do love saving up for a special trip abroad too

Road trips outside our state in the motorhome. I prefer being gone anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks at a time.
