Life in the Ardennes [I Love Life and Adventure]

I live not far from where I was born, but not quite the same town. I do go to the same church where I was christened though. The Ardennes is a beautiful part of Europe, and you should visit sometime, after covid19 is defeated maybe.

That's a beautiful place.

So beautiful.

Gorgeous! Reminds me a lot of where I grew up in Arkansas, but with more castles and much older houses, lol

@Zaphod42
and much older houses
The notion of "old" and "new" is totally different in Europe and in America. A church that's only 200 years old would be considered "old", in America. In Europe, it's more or less a newly built church. 馃榿

@helenS 200 years is the equivalent of a baby, for a church, over here lol

@Elessar Exactly.

belgium is often underestimated as a holyday location
Kwek0041-45, M
@CynicGirl We don't really have the weather, the beach, ... etc. But if you are looking for another form of vacation, there are some things you can see.
CynicGirl26-30, F
@Kwek00 yeah you dont win prices with your little coast line... but the cities like brugge or ghent ar great to visit
Kwek0041-45, M
@CynicGirl Old cities, art, beer, historical places and you can eat pretty well out here. And well, we have some nice places to go too if you want nature but I wouldn't really call us a top contender in that spot. We are densily poppulated after all.

Wow! That is so beautiful! You are blessed. Have you ever wanted to live anywhere else? Enjoy your day. Are you in school or do you work there?

@SW-User There are a lot of war-monuments and important places you can visit. A lot of people died in those mountains/hills (because they aren't that high) during the last offensive of the German forces.

@SW-User Who would have thought. BTW, that tiger tank in your picture. You'll find one exactly like that one, at the outside of the Bastogne war museum. I visited that when I was much younger.

The bottom of the tank is ripped open by explosives. And it was abandoned. So Bastogne used it as a monument.
