I will be moving to Melbourne permanently

My recce to Melbourne was very successful.
My host and I got along very well. No negative issues were forthcoming, and it seems that we are well suited to living under the same roof.
Large two storey, 4-bedroom home. The upper floor will be mine. My bedroom has an ensuite, a large office/entertainment area at the top of the landing. (this is where I will have my music playing)
We will share the kitchen, cooking for each other.
Outdoors there is a two-car garage and plenty of room for me to potter around in the garden.
A large shopping centre is 300 metres away; a public transport hub is at the shopping centre.
Melbourne CBD is 25km away, St Kilda Beach, 20km, Dandenong Ranges National Park, 17km, Mornington Peninsular, 45km, Phillip Island, 100+km.
I am excited for this move for two reasons mostly, a new beginning, I stagnated in Perth, being there for 38 years, and to get away from the relentless, oppressive summertime heat.
It is easier to keep warm than it is to cool down.
The move will happen late May, early June.
Driving across Australia via Albany, Esperance, along the Nullarbor Plain, Port Lincoln, Victor Harbour and onwards to Melbourne.
The trip will take at least 10 days as we will be staying overnight at the places mentioned and a couple of places between Norseman and Ceduna.

Sounds like a good road trip. I don’t think the whales are in residence at the head of the bight yet. They might be by June. Maybe stay in Streaky Bay rather than Ceduna (Just 100 k further on) I am sure you have a list of what to see on the way. If you want any recommendations in the South Australia sector let me know.

Commiserations on moving to Victoria, you can have there climate....although I do like Melbourne's CBD.
Melbourne tho?…. Melbourne 🤯

Gusman · 61-69, M
@scorpiolovedeep Thank you.
Already started buying winter clothes. Transport hub is 300 metres away. Catch a bus to the train line.

What is Melbourne?
Gusman · 61-69, M
@smileylovesgaming Australia's second largest city. The capital of the state of Victoria.
5.4 million people live there. 5.6 million live in Sydney
@smileylovesgaming Recently voted as the worlds most Livable City. And who am I to argue? Certainly has the best coffee and a complete lack of "Trumps ".😷

Seems like a nice city or area.
I want to visit Perth to see the beaches north from there but I can understand living there for 38 years is enough. A fresh start. Hope it all works out.
@SoftIceCream Visit Melbourne & see all the weird person
@ShenaniganFoodie Weird in what way?
Gibbon · 70-79, M
I guess you only plan on driving 5 or 6 hours per day given the driving distance I just looked at
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@Gusman the distance you're driving would take me from where I live in Maryland to salt lake City Utah
Gusman · 61-69, M
@Gibbon Total driving distance in excess of 4200km.
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@Gusman oh that would get me all the way to Portland Oregon
I hope you do take the time to call in.

Help is needed,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, BADLY
