People can actually be quite welcoming to strangers and those less fortunate . . when they put down their copies of the Daily Mail and start thinking for themselves 🙂

Every state is unique with plenty to see.
People like to harp on the fact that many of us don't have passports. They may not realize we have beaches, mountains and islands TOO, some even have in all that within their state...

I think the only nice thing i can say of my homeland at the moment is the amazing good will of a people divided by everything from politics to economics to multi-millionaire Soccer Chairman whining at the lack of extra cash coming in to make up for covid era losses, (🙄really Mr. Levy ?) To equally whiny newspaper editorials leaning ever further right in their quest to alienate anyone still reading.....
Is THE PEOPLE THEMSELVES.

Because for all the noise and nonsense and seemingly endless tales of woe, no politicians responsible for their role in how we got here has been found hanging from a lamppost !

No Banker needs an armed guard to ensure they make it safely to and from work everyday.
No Chairman is worried about imminent redundancies and loss of personal status.

But they shouldn't feel too smug about that.
Sooner or later there will be rioting on the street.
Sooner or later people are going to want to physically attack those institutions.
Sooner or later Rees-Mogg/Sunak/Truss and co. won't be able to avoid public confrontation.

And when that happens....

Nice people, wonderful history, beautiful countryside.

In my adopted country, the people are more welcoming of outsiders than some places I've lived or visited.

Beautiful places to travel.

Vast and varied landscapes - massive natural beauty.
Peace.
Democracy - best system despite its flaws.
Relative freedom and reasonable social safety net.
Easy to be happy here.

Fortunately, there are still people who are proud of it, stand for the flag, & kneel for the cross...

There are some kind and respectable people. Plenty of nice places to go to.

My countrymen are known to be friendly to tourists. I'm talking about the Philippines.

Fries, beer and cholate are legendary here.

Despite the many correct stereotypes, it has some beautiful places and we make a good cup of tea.

I'm allowed to openly hate it without being executed.

We have great national parks.

It's a great place to live once you get past all the moronic people in it.
