A miserable day at the English seaside . A month of poor weather

Weymouth , Dorset . It’s just how we like it . As you know , our national pastime is moaning about ‘ the weather ‘ .
We hate being too hot , cold. and rain .

There is something weirdly wonderful about the English seaside.

Late autumn/winter when places are closed, they look like bleak ghost towns. Shutters down everywhere; few places open to eat; no noise from daytrippers on the beach or on the rides; no horse cabs or donkeys...pretty grim if the weather's cold/wet/snowy.

But when it starts to open up, workers have smiles; there's laughter everywhere; the guest houses or hotels get a new lick of paint.....it's a completely different world

@Picklebobble2 Those on holiday or day trips , didn’t really care about
the weather . Girls in short shorts and skimpy tops . Old folk licking ice creams in the shelters and raucous laughter from the bars .
Expensive to park too !

I did not know there was Good weather in England. For Christ's sake it is either rain, fog, or more rain right. I watched enough World War Two movies to know this! LOL

@emmasfriend on a private yacht? How are you doing now, all healed?
Odd how every nation tends to complain about aspects of itself which are *characteristic* of the place. lol

@SunshineGirl I can imagine Weston yesterday .
I may take the Railway to Weston next week and take a turn on the Big Wheel . Great views .

At least it is not 114 and you can't touch anything.
WillaKissing · 56-60
@likesnatural You might want to say 114 degrees and then convert that down to Celsius for the Euro folk.
Taken your vitamin D supplement?

My hearing is not so good. Did he say "Old folk licking girls, in short shorts and skimpy tops in the shelters and raucous laughter from the bars"?

Love these pictures. My friend in Burnley has said this is the wettest July she can remember.
Go to Italy, then... and you can boil in 40+ degree temperatures
