I've been lucky enough to have traveled around the world quite a bit and have to say I've seen and been to soem pretty amazing things and places, but I believe my long (one was 45 days long) road trips across the United States were the most amazing. The thing is, I could do a couple more and still not see it all.

@Ontheroad I always planned to spend a couple of Months doing the US by rail. There are several east-west runs , plus the east and west coast, just getting off here and there. But time, Covid and Trump conspired against me.. Too late now..😷
When my family and I traveled by train with private sleeping cabins starting from Spain and all the way to Switzerland, passing places where no cars can travel, the views were majestic: snowy mountains, lakes and many beautiful towns. I'll never forget that experience.

Maybe, perhaps, my journey through most of the USA, riding Greyhound buses, before I started working in Colorado.
Or maybe my travel through Tunisia in "louages" (which are minivan taxi cabs that sit up to ten passengers).
Our little planet is a fascinating part of the universe.
Welcome to SW, by the way!

10 months full time living in and traveling the country in a camper van with my son. Unquestionably the coolest thing I’ll ever do… maybe

@Stereoguy I honestly have no idea
there was obviously the airfare to get to australia in the first place
then I bought a car, cause used car is a lot cheaper than renting one
and some simple gear

and then the daily variable cost like food and fuel, but thats depending on luxury level, which is pretty basic for me

the biggest cost was when most of my stuff was stolen about two weeks before I had to fly back. but most of that cost was immaterial, like mementos and contact details of the people I met

Its tough. Disneyland. Las Vegas. London. Worlds Tallest building. Port Douglas. Great Barrier Reef. Sydney Harbour...But the one I want to do again, (Having done it twice) Is to sail through the Suez Canal on a passenger liner.. You spend the whole day watching the desert go by from a great vantage point at less the 10kph. Its jaw dropping....😷

Travelling Europe in a cute little campervan, Borneo, Pyrenees, Isles of Scilly, staying in a lighthouse, stating in a castle, Australia, China, Caribbean....too many to pick one
helenS · 36-40, F
@meggie Were you on your own when you traveled Europe in a camper van?

@helenS no i was with a man
Some memorable road trips, Florida was a standout, as was Vermont.

Thoroughly enjoyed any air travel, the destination didn't matter.

When I was ok traveling and had no anxiety, I went to Italy at 18 and just loved it. It was amazing, magical, and beautiful.
Hmmm I really enjoyed my European river boat cruise down the Rein River

Being 23 years old and traveling to London from the US, alone, and not knowing a fucking soul when I got there. The time of my life.

my trip to Thailand was the best travel experience I ever had, even better than my trips to many European cities and the Middle East.
