I like to get out and see the country but at my own pace!
Yulianna · 26-30, F
in august i will go to my parents' house in the country for vacation. i will swim and horse ride, climb trees and sing in the woods, dance in the rain and under the moon, go flying and shooting. otherwise, i will lie in the sun or sit in my window watching for the clouds to roll by.
i think that is a lot of pretty laid back activity...

@Yulianna That sounds amazing!

A vacation needs to include multiple full-on adrenaline highs. 😁

I usually do both in one trip.
5-7days at the beach, doing nothing but eat and relax and swim.
And the following week spent on a plane or train hopping to diff cities.

@CookieCrumbs My husband's company offered that to many employees as well. He has the years with the company, but he wasn't old enough to take the package (nor did he want to). We got takeout from our favorite local places during the pandemic to keep them going. Fortunately, they survived, thanks to local support. It's been an experience for sure. I'm hopeful for the light at the end of the tunnel.

We were doing the same during the lockdown. The travel food money set aside for 2020, we used it to order food on weekends. Different country every weekend 😁 We have a lot of those small restos around where I live.
It was tough for those in the service industry.

@CookieCrumbs Yep, exactly. We did the same. :)
It really was. I'm very grateful to have the job I do.

I can’t stay in the same place for too long. But the most active most adrenaliney things don’t really interest me either. I wanna be chilled out and free with little schedule but always moving around seeing new places
FrozenWasteland · 61-69, M
Both. I want to climb a mountain during the day, then sit back and look at the stars until every care in my "normal" world starts to look small.
Lacemaker · 41-45, F
I like a bit of both. We've been at home these last two years, like most people so we're just travelling to see family in different parts of the country.
Next year I plan to do a two week rail holiday around Europe with my then 14 year old daughter. We have friends in Belgium and France, who we'll spend a few days with in Brussels and Nice. As long as we're by the sea for some time and we have plenty of historical sites to explore, that will make our holiday.....along with the food 😋

I like adventure travelling: multiple days treks, climbing mountains, biking, snorkeling
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
I like to take in the scenery. Went on a vacation in the early 80’s with my sister and brother-in-law and my sister was hell-bent on doing, doing, doing. There were several sites where it would have been good to have spent an hour or so just enjoying the area and the scenery. My sister was out to take in as much as she could & snap photos. Then fast food for every meal. Not my idea of a relaxing vacation. For example we went up the Pike’s Peak drive and didn’t spend more than 10-15 minutes at the top. It in July and really cold up there which was refreshing. They had a restaurant but nope, bought a couple postcards and back down the mountain we went.

What is vacation? I vaguely remember them from my youth

@SW-User Walking and climbing mountains are even more so. What about yourself?
ImRileyTheDog · 22-25, F
Active, almost a waste of money to just chill when I can at home or somewhere local
alan20 · M
I like to drive around and explore. Lying on the beach is nice for maybe 20 minutes - until I get bored.

SW-User
Both. I like to explore my surroundings and also relax
Pinkstarburst · 51-55, F
Laid back. Resting, relaxing, giving my brain a break.
NerdyPotato · M
Something in between I guess. When I take the effort to go to another country I want to see things, not sit in the same spot for a week. But I rather walk as little as possible to visit as many spots as possible.
bijouxbroussard · F
It really depends. When I took vacations while I was working I preferred going someplace to relax. The vacation I’d take after retirement would be for sightseeing, exploring.
TheSirfurryanimalWales · 61-69, M
Sports trips are my favourite vacation....strictly watching.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
Active, I need to experience and learn things

Depends on the vacation.
I only want to go camping (tent)
WandererTony · 56-60, M
