@sarabee1995 My first time scared the crap out of me so Mac said we needed to go again. We have jumped 3 times. He did that as a just in case because we are both pilots now and when I fly alone he likes to know I have a chute and training for his peace of mind. Same goes for me, I know he has a chute and can use it

@TexChik Don't they have chutes now to guide a disabled light aircraft safely to ground?

@sarabee1995 Do they? Ours is a twin engine turbo prop. Not sure they make one for it.

@TexChik Oh I don't know if that's maybe too big. I'm not familiar with the sizes of planes and what kinds of chutes they have.

@sarabee1995 Cessna had one and Cirrus developed the only certified system now flying. they seem to work.

and, of course, they make sense, in that you do NOT leave the aircraft when deploying the chute! !
