I guess basically the realization that you have to let it go in despite of how huge it was, if you want to feel like everyone else... as long as you let it define you, it will make you feel distant from others, so you have to tell it goodbye. It feels like something you can never come back from, something that can't be ignored, something that everyone you talk with should know about, but as long as you hold onto it like that, it will only keep hurting you. Let it hurt, but don't let it hurt your future prospects. Let it just be something that happened, and maybe when you find the right person, whether it's a romantic interest or close friend, let them know eventually down the line. Don't make it part of who you are, accept that it happened and move on as if it didn't, and get a therapist to talk it through with. If you don't like your therapist, get a new one until you find one that you like.

Working out 🏋️ . I’ve never felt so better both mentally and physically when I used to hit the gym like 5x a week.

Singing, venting, creative outlets, breathing focus minutes, allow the feelings even if it's anger or sadness and you wanna cry. Let it come. Exercising (hard to breathe kind of level of exercise for best effect) connecting with others, exposure to a certain level but not too extreme.

turn into a person who can deal with that trauma. I think that these moments will be a large part of what defines us as individuals later on, in how we deal with it and grow from it.

Therapy. Also creative pursuits: cooking, knitting & crocheting, writing. Playing the piano helps me, as well.
