My night terrors can take a chill pill now 🥹

The other night I woke up as I grabbed my man’s arm and threw it off me 🥹 He woke up too and as I woke up I was like oh shit sorry… I just felt pinned down and trapped in my dream and panicked 🙄

Then last night I dreamt that a guy from my past knocked on the door and that I saw his face, I woke up shaking and fucking terrified, like I started thinking what to do, and that I would die if he got inside..

I always wake up feeling disoriented too, so it takes some time to realize that it was a dream and that I’m safe..

Feel bad for my husband having to deal with me tho 😂😂 Like he’s sleeping all peacefully and then I grab his arm and try to throw it away 😂😂😂😭😭😭

Those sound like night terrors. Normal for people with PTSD but that doesn't make it any easier. So sorry to hear that you are going through this. I'm not sure what would help but I find that meditating on something positive before sleep helps me a bit when I go through a rough patch.

@SW-User Yeah my cptsd ain’t getting any better 🥹

@SW-User My ADHD brain lets me replace old memories with new memories constantly which helps during waking hours but I frequently remember a lot more when sleeping and never the good parts.

I had a really bad one last night. I wonder why some weeks/months it’s so much worse than others
SW-User
@itsok I’m sorry, and yeah I wonder the same 🥺

I also have complex ptsd, insomnia, severe depression, and if that isn't enough panic and anxiety disorder.

Night terrors are horrible. When stressed out they are the worst. I average 2 to 4 hours and weekends 5.

I did that treatment I told you about...I dont remember if I told you. So far no night terrors and my anxiety is so low I think something is wrong.

Have you always had them?
SW-User
@MyNameIsHurl more or less yeah, I have cptsd

You're not alone. I scream and swear in my sleep. One time I howled super loud and scared the shit of my boyfriend. 😂
SW-User
@Queendragonfly I’ve woken him up screaming a few times too, and jumping 😂😭

@SW-User But my boyfriend is the same. He can box with his arms in his sleep. 😂

Last time I had a nightmare, I was in the worst place I had ever been in my life, physically. So why don't you talk about what's stressing you out during your waking hours, and that might give you a clue about your night terrors.
SW-User
@LordShadowfire It’s from my cptsd, but also the last months been hard
