You can’t blame the people who need the medication for different reasons…you can blame the Drs for over prescribing it or the pharmaceutical companies for not producing enough to keep up with demand. But if someone goes to a Dr for a health condition and is advised to take a medication, it is not inconsiderate or selfish of them to do so

@SW-User Okay, I'm saying this as a fat guy myself. There are lots of ways to lose weight. There are fewer ways to combat diabetes.

@LordShadowfire I’m not disagreeing with that, which is why if a dr sees it necessary to prescribe that medication then we can’t blame the patient.
FYI I am diabetic

Not to be mean, but if your dad needs it to regulate his blood sugar....can't he do that with diet just like someone who wants to lose weight ?
My mum is almost wheel chair bound . She's 84, and she's already lost almost 50kg at the age of 70.
Now she's in a nursing home, she can't control how healthy the food is, and has put on weight since being there .
They just put her on something (I think it's this ), and she's finally losing what she gained since she went in to the home .
Which now means she can at least stand up again long enough to wash herself ,go to the toilet independently and dress herself .
It's given her back quality of life .
I get people shouldn't use it for vanities sake. But some are using it when they are already dieting and it's not working ...and they are at a health crisis.
Diabetes can be controlled by diet - it's just fucking hard . They are now getting evidence that correct diet can reduce diabetes to non detectable levels and get people off insulin and other medications .
Not that anyone should really be taking ozempic unless there's absolutely no other options - it fucks over so many of your bodies systems.
Many who start using can't stop. It screws with their metabolisms and it's a one way street .🤷
