Unpopular opinion:

State and local police should be completely dissolved. Federal agents should be the ONLY ones who get involved in stopping crime. They are more intelligent, receive way better training for longer, and are far more neutral when it comes to solving problems between citizens.

We can't afford to train police officers for longer periods or make the training better for them. State and local police are already underfunded and understaffed because the funds for them just aren't there.
