Unpopular opinion:

State and local police should be completely dissolved. Federal agents should be the ONLY ones who get involved in stopping crime. They are more intelligent, receive way better training for longer, and are far more neutral when it comes to solving problems between citizens.

Depends on what type of crime but I agree. It makes me so upset how many cases of things like murder and rape go unsolved because people that don't know what they're doing are covering it.

@DunDunDun murder cases are in most cases, not for local authorities to investigate. In my state capital cases are referred to county prosecutors offices to investigate. Sometimes those are referred up to the state. You really need to know what happens in your community and state. Some cities are so big, they have their own secondary police levels, places such as LA, Chicago and NYC are such.
