Ive read on another site some responses from gun nut Americans, like"If youre not American you dont get it","Its not guns that kill","why should our safety be questioned because of some nut?"...
Among a lot of Americans seems to be a kind of inbuilt paranoia about their Government.
Like they want to be armed in case the Govt tries to attack them,or something.
As if theres a dystopia just around the corner...I think dystopia is already there about 15 years ago. They just like playing with guns.
The way the gun manufacturer lobby rules US politics is disgusting and should be broken down.
You may guess im not American.but i love America, and im sad to see the division and social upheaveals that are prevalent, that are driving people to kill.
@wonkywinky Not to mention the idea that a bunch of paranoid mostly right wingers could go toe to toe with the US military is a delusion to the degree of mental illness.

The second amendment really has nothing to do with that if you actually read the history and supporting documents but for arguments sake lets pretend it is true.

It came about in an era where the only advantage the government army had was field artillery and literal cavalry.

How is your M4 going to defeat a Reaper drone?

@wonkywinky In this case the shooter was a member of the military who’s assignment was training riflery. The only way to disarm him would have been to disarm the military or separate him from the service. The army knew of his mental problems but allowed him access to firearms. This story is about government failure, not civilian gun ownership, should you be wondering why we don’t trust the government.
@redredred Bullshit. It is about civilian ownership because lets be real. No military base will let you just wander off with government owned weaponry.
redredred · M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Right, there’s never been a case of theft from a military base. The fact that the VA had this guy committed to a mental health facility just this past summer and he recently told the docs he was hearing voices doesn’t in the least suggest governmental failure, Right?

Talk about bullshit.
@redredred And now you are making shit up to support your ideological bullshit instead of the actual facts of the case.

So let me get this straight. The government is now responsible for healthcare? Seems your politics change to whatever your argument requires.

@redredred Americans vote, America is at fault!
redredred · M
@Carazaa This is a republic. Rights are NOT subject to a majority vote.
@redredred Blathering on about a republic is a meaningless buzzword that you and your ilk think makes you look educated. It really doesn't.

And based on the rest of your statement it seems that you think rights and other things should be dictated by your betters. Which actually does fit your ideological positions.
redredred · M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow You should try out for the Olympics with a leap like that. How exactly does a rational person(not you, obviously) make the connection between asserting my rights in the face of a majority against me to taking direction from my so-called betters? Do you have any exposure to intellectual consistency?
@redredred Not at all. You are quite clear about these things.

You can get over your persecution complex. Nobody is out to get the cis het white guy.

And the 2nd amendment as presented by conservatives in the US is a fabrication by an unelected body that function like monarchs (SCOTUS) imposed on the majority.
redredred · M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Total bullshit. The second amendment is a restraining order keeping the government from interfering from the inherent right of all humans to seek self protection. The right to life is meaningless without the means to protect it.

Now, as a committed leftard you no doubt love the idea of being subject to the whim of the government. It bothers you not at all whatever they choose to do. You labor under the delusion that your vote means something and the government would never violate the law. You held this believe as you protested police (the government) killing black people. You guys invented double-think
@redredred Umm no. Tell me without telling me you got your history from the NRA and not actual historical facts and documentation.

Furthermore the current interpretation involves ignoring half the language in the amendment.

Me, myself and I doesn't count as a militia.

And cue stereotypical right wing cliches. And thanks for proving you don't know what left wing means.

It is cute that you think rights especially around guns exist in a vacuum.

To be a right libertarian it requires you have no clue how laws, government or economics work.
redredred · M
Provide a legal definition of the minimum number necessarily to constitute a militia, not that it matters for the second amendment since it is clearly an individually protected right.

To make it understandable to a government educated leftard, try this.

“A well balanced breakfast being necessary to the start of a good day, the right of the people to buy and keep food shall not be infringed”

Now, to whom does that right apply, the people or the breakfast?

@redredred Its funny how believing that innocent people shouldnt be massacred by nutjobs is always interpreted as being lefty.I think allowing the general public to arm itself without really strong restrictions is stupid. So when was the last time the US Govt actually launched an armed assault upon the population?
