I Am Having A Sad Day

The virus just became real a good friend of my wifes a man she admired and considered a mentor and friend died from Covid 19. He was only 60 and well known in our area but wasnt able to overcome is. The even sadder part is there are no public viewing for friends to say goodbye just a few members of his family. I think think may be like cancer everyone of us will know someone who has it and even dies.

After I clocked off this morning, I sat for a few minutes with a elderly guy. He was all alone, no family/ visitors allowed.
I'm certain when I go in later, that bed will be empty or have another occupant.
Some finale after 75yrs.
Stay safe, be safe. ✌

@Harriet03 so thankful for people like you thats the sad truth even family cant stand around the bed with them you are their family at that time you be safe to!!
Losses are at scale and will touch everybody

Offer your wife our condolences
@TexChik yes ... but, numbers hidden in the numbers point to it ending up far more severe ... the transmission mechanism is leveraging the urban life style to induce heavy losses there

@questionWeaver and that is without figuring in the use of meds found to be effective . The lib in charge of the CDC has gone out of his way to say there isn’t time for testing ... the testing has already been done ! They are FDA approved drugs .
@TexChik the vaccines should be released to everybody over 80

This is the part that breaks my heart the most. People losing loved ones and not being able to be there, grieving alone and a limited support system.

@Keepitsimple especially in my wifes case she saw this man as someone special and couldnt go visit him at the hospital to say goodbye
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F

Sorry to hear that! I know someone in his 50's who is currently in ICU fighting for his life and is slowing improving each day. They could be removing the ventilator any day now.

@Jimmy2016 thats a good sign hopefully he gets better quickly

@1stexhub Its amazing how fast this spread
1stexhub · 56-60, M
@jimjim1969 thats why we need to stay in give it less chances to attach to us and die out

These are the saddest things about this virus. I am so very sorry.
1stexhub · 56-60, M
@PTCdresser57 so true just let her grieve
PTCdresser57 · 61-69, M
Hug her..tell her that because of the virus and the toll it was taking on his body that he is no longer suffering. From what I have read it is like suffocating to death.
1stexhub · 56-60, M
@PTCdresser57 thats why the ventilator and some they induce a coma
pointswithpinky · 46-50, M
How tragic. Such a wicked disease in that it won't allow basic human courtesies.
1stexhub · 56-60, M
@pointswithpinky certain familes are devastated
pointswithpinky · 46-50, M
@1stexhub So many people affected by this horror.

SweetMae · 61-69, F
